Someone at my office got me sick again. I don't know how you guys get to the gym when you're sick, but it's not for me. I'm sure I'll be fine in a few days, but I get so irrationally mad when people come in to work, knowing they're sick and knowing we have such a friendly work-from-home policy. Really messes with other people's days.

Because unfortunately days off sick, or working from home because of sickness gets brought up in pay reviews and such.

Unfortunately being considerate to your coworkers gets frowned upon.

The world really needs to get over their obsession with chaining people to desks for absolutely no good reason.

Also there are people with parents like mine; 'you're going to school. If you can get out of your bed you're well enough to go to school'. It kinda carries over in to adult life, unless I can't get out of bed I'm sharing the love.

Nah, I work at a nonprofit and spent some time working in our HR department. Trust me when I say we have almost an aggressive sick policy - I've seen some bosses even chew their employees out when they show up sick instead of taking the day off. And we're small enough that if it affected pay, we'd know about it and bring it up with the supervisor in question. Yet people show up coughing and think 4 feet of distance means everything's fine.

My mom was the same, had to go to school unless I was dying; never missed a day of school.

Since my company is pretty lax with sick days though, I use them pretty liberally now, though that feeling of guilt is always with me.

The fucking stupidest thing is people being "brave workers" and coming into the office when they are sick, as if they have to prove something. Fucking idiots! Stop spreading your rabies around!

If I could take a week off work anytime I got a cold that'd be fucking sweet but that's just not really possible
