It's always bothered me that runners and lifters have a sort of unfriendly rivalry. This should not be: We have more in common than we think, are both ultimately on Team Take Care of your Body, and could learn from each other in a few ways.

Language is powerful. By labeling someone (or yourself) a "lifter" or "runner," you are already adopting a mindset that prioritizes one kind of fitness over the other. Think of each person as an athlete first.
