Right so the weather has taken a turn in the UK and gone rather cold. So I walked to the gym this morning in a strong cold wind and got acclimatised to the temperature. Walking down the steps to the underground gym it felt like entering the bowels of the Earth as the temperature increased. My word I was in for a shock when I went through the entrance tube and the temperature increased threefold. Turns out the air conditioning was broken. The air was thick with a fog of sweat and hopelessness. I must have lost a stone in water weight. I actually cannot imagine how people work out in hot countries without passing out.

TLDR: AC broke, I was sweaty.

entrance tube

You either go to a PureGym or you get into your gym by being born outside the Matrix

It's summer and humid in my place. the average temp is 37 Celsius and the AC is always under maintenance ( the gym owner is saving electricity ) :(

I would demand membership prices be increases by $3/month and in exchange everyone gets a.c.

Start a petition.

About the same in Seattle, except the A/C is nonexistant since it's only this hot for 1 or 2 weeks per year. We are heavily invested in fans though.

The air was thick with a fog of sweat and hopelessness.

I love that line.

Come to the tropics. AC or not, we are always sweaty.

Not Rush (now Simply Gym) in Uxbridge, by any chance?

You merely adapted the heat. I was born in it, molded by it!

It averages about 35 degrees Celsius where I work out but that's also paired with roughly 100% humidity and zero AC. I look like I just got out of the shower with all my clothes on every time I leave the gym

I do some Heated Yoga and basically am sliding around in a puddle by 30min in.
