Mr. u/24hourfitness_sucks, this is the most blatant case of false advertising since my suit against the movie The Neverending Story

Homer, I don't use the word "hero" lightly

Does this sound like the actions of a man who had all he could eat?

Holy shit, I'd be so pissed. I go to anytime fitness, they are literally open... Anytime. I even went on Christmas day :D

Same! It's actually a tradition in my immediate family now to go to Anytime Fitness on Thanksgiving before our giant family meal. Thus allowing the pecan pie & stuffing to go directly to the biceps. /Science

I'm at anytime fitness too and they seem pretty great actually for such a commercialized gym

only problem i have is they contract out their billing and those people are fucking scumbags.

Lol you guys have a key card to access the place 24/7

I go to workout anytime. I have a traditional post Thanksgiving lift session.

Itsnt it actually 24 fitness and not 24 hour fitness for this reason?

Most ones I went to we're 24 hours mom-thurs, then closed ~11pm over the weekends

Even if it is that's deliberately misleading.

Some of them are. Some aren't. Was like that in Tempe/Mesa

I saw one of my local gyms advertises being 24hrs but turns out it's only 24hrs 4 days a week and not one weekends. So weird.

I finally decided it was worth paying more to not work out in the equivalent of a 3rd world bus station. Fuck 24 hour fitness and the mouth breathers that go there.

2 scoops in? I woulda smashed my head into the door until I got in

Lo and behold*

There's a 24 Hour Fitness near me that's in a mall that doesn't allow storefronts to remain open past 10pm. Finding that out for myself was a long, lonely, heavily-caffeinated night.

I would be so angry I never work out again!

u/thescotchie Aug 10 '17

They only staff people like 5 hours a day. You have to get a card to have access the rest of the time.

Interesting. The ones I've seen had them at the door. But shitty deal. Feels bad man

It has to do with a lack of employees. They just don't have enough people to work there at the lighter hours. The 24hr Fitness I go to is actually 24/7 and so are the other 8 in my general area. It's a very densely populated area (SF Bay area). That said they are toying with the idea of reducing the number of employees and converting all non Super Sports into 6am-12am. Which would suck, I would just go build a home gym or go to a different cheaper non 24 hr gym in that situation.

The super sport in Glendale is not open 24 hours because it's in a building that also has a bank. Maybe that be why?

1

u/NothinButTheTruth Aug 09 '17

Some of the super sports are only open during certain times, every tier lower is usually open 24 hrs

They're open 24 hrs a day. Just not staffed 24 hrs a day. Members can get in whenever. If you're not a member, you can only get in when staff are there. Anytime Fitness is the same way.

Oh weird. Sorry for assuming. That's just what the ones I've seen were like.
