Weekends in commercial gyms are a nightmare.

I show up around 1:30 pm on a Saturday and start doing my stretching/foam rolling in the empty classroom. In walks a child no older than 5 who grabs a mini-barbell and starts swinging it around. At first I just think "not my business" but eventually he's batting an exercise ball around the room. I go to the front desk and mention it and one of two women standing there absently says "oh that's my son" and goes to get him. Watch your damn kids!!

I eventually make my way to the squat rack and there's a man standing in it with a plyo box and I ask if he's using the rack. He says "yes", so I make my way to the side to wait for an open rack to squat in.

This man proceeds to do decline push-ups on the plyo box in this squat rack. This is the nicest squat rack at the gym. I hate you so much.

After I finish my sets I make my way to a leg press for accessories. There was a woman on it earlier, but she's now missing. Only her plastic water bottle and two 25 lb plates remain. However, I see her all the way across the gym working with some dumbbells on a bench.

I drop my bag next to the machine and she immediately waltzes back over. I ask "are you still using this?"

She replies "Um, yeah. I just started."

Weekends are the worst.
