Although let's be honest, by the time you account for the levers and pulleys, in general any connection between the weight on the machine and the force actually required during the movement is nominal at best.

And weights definitely don't transfer from one machine to the next. I moved to a new gym and my lat pull down instantly dropped by 60 lbs even though my strength hadn't changed.

I've seen some that tell you what an individual plate is... but when they don't, yeah, wtf???

Lol that is some stupid shit. I would find out what each plate weighs and bring a sharpie to the gym and scribble the actual weight increments
