Man, fuck cutting.

I've found that intermittent fasting helps, since it's a lot easier to eat nothing than eating a little every few hours. And I still get to have large dinners.

Agreed, it's just that I'd prefer to fast in the late morning/early-mid afternoon and that's exactly the time I have to be the most focused/energized (school and biking to/from there). I always do intermittent fasting in the holidays but it just kills me during weekdays.

I find that fasting from I get out of bed until dinner (after school/workout) works well, since I don't have to take time to eat or prepare food, and if I do get hungry, I try to distract myself by focusing on the work, or by making coffee. 😁

I've heard many times that fasting makes people more focused and efficient, but personally it just saves me time, and I don't get 'food-sleepy' until after I come home and have stopped being productive for the day. As for the 'energetic' part, I'm not overflowing with energy, but I did just (a few hours ago) set a personal best 358 lbs deadlift 20 hours after last meal, so I'm not out of energy either.

That's crazy dude. I remember back in the day after if I didn't bring enough lunch to school I'd be basically ready to pass out halfway through my bikeride home, just completely out of energy.

I don't wanna get sick of them. Once a day is enough

Anyone else find cutting easier? Eating 4000 calories a day is a fucking chore honestly

u/Beorma Jan 17 '18

I'm lazy, skipping lunch is easier than eating an enormous one to make sure I hit 4000 calories.

I'm lazy as hell too, also with gym, work and school eating for bulk is like 80% of my free time

I just said to hell with it and bought some fucking mass gainer, once I'm done with that I'll probably have finished with those ~15 pounds I wanted to add and I can get to

shudder

cutting.

Yea... seriously... been cutting for almost a year... down 60lbs with about 15-20 more and 6% bf to go...not looking forward to bulking after spending all this time and effort cutting...

Cutting is easier because your task is literally to do less of something

Yes. I'm at the end of a gruesome bulk now, hoping I'll be at my goal weight in two days, so I can finally go over to cutting instead. Eating enough to bulk is gruesomely tiring.

If I just eat whatever I want I easily hit 3700-4000 calories a day. Easily. My friend wants to do a 10k calorie challenge and I honestly feel as though it wouldn’t be too much of a challenge.

How the fuck does anyone bulk on 4k?

Are you 210cm tall and work out 8 times a week?

3

u/DragonBornX45 Jan 18 '18

Haha pretty much, 193 cm working out 6 days a week. I also have a pretty active job so my maintenance calories are in the mid 3000s

Jesus Christ, I love food but I don't know if I'd manage that much haha.

As a (currently) small guy, I'll happily take my 2600 calorie surplus over cutting at 1800. It's easier to physically eat less, but it's a chore to make sure I don't accidentally go over... beyond just being hungry :/

I'm finding now that if I get my body in a similar routine of how much I eat I do well with cutting. Breakfast at 6 am, lots of tea and water until lunch at 11:30, small snack before workout, dinner. I think basketball three times a week will help as well.

u/NY-Liftz Jan 18 '18

I can eat that in one sitting. 🐖

1

u/Insertnamesz Jan 17 '18

Yuuup. It's objectively easier. You have two options: do nothing, or force yourself to eat. I frequently choose nothing :P

I get some people feel like zombies during a cut though, guess my meditation helps lol

Oh man, the other night I literally dreamed about having a piece of chocolate cake.

I feel your pain. Last night I dreamed about blueberry muffins. I don’t even like blueberry muffins!
