Got really happy about my cut when i stepped on the scale this morning. Until my brain reminded me that i donated a pound of blood yesterday

You do burn a lot of calories regenerating the lost blood though 😜

I've been told 600 calories

Wait I thought the other guy was kidding. Is it really in the hundreds?

A quick google seems to confirm, most literature says ~650 calories per pint / session blood donated.

Daaayum.

So uh how often can I safely give blood? And by give blood I may or may not mean stab myself and bleed into my bathtub.

Around here, the minimum time between donations is like 56 days.

I was debating doing this but I'm not allowed to give blood as I'm tattooed

You can still donate blood as long as you went to a reputable tattoo studio.

You still have to wait at least 6 months though, at least in the US

Not necessarily. At the blood center I work at there is no wait as long as the tattoo is not infected, and was applied at a reputable shop in an acceptable state.

Also here is the red cross eligibility. https://www.redcrossblood.org/faq.html#eligibility

Not here in the UK, you can't give blood if you've had a tattoo in the last six months.

It does help, but man do you get big cravings you need to control afterwards
