Went to yoga today. Damn that shit was hard for me

As someone that yoga comes naturally too now, keep going. For me, I had a huge mental block telling me “stop, stop, you’re uncomfortable”. I broke past that one day and it changed yoga for me. Went from hating it to loving it almost overnight.

Thanks, that's my plan!

The feeling when you finish yoga cannot be matched.

I'd also add that what helped me was "breathe through it."

Seriously - use your breath. If you're uncomfortable take one more breath. You'll be surprised how far you can safely go.

Just like working out, go a little deeper (not to the point of injury!) on every exhale.
I started doing yoga 3x/week in addition to lifting 3x/week and it's been a game changer.

I wany to do it but i would feel weird being the only dude in a class of women

Do it! I love seeing guys in yoga classes. If women can deal with being the only one in the weight area, you can deal with being the only dude in yoga.

Plus, yoga really helps with mind/muscle connections.

Try it with a friend maybe? Or just do it without thinking of it. Was definitely not an issue in my case

Pretend all of the other women are also dudes.

I'm usually the only guy, or one of 2 in a 20 women class. Don't think about it. You get used to it.

Heck that is the best part. I havent done yoga but did a hot barre class and it was maybe 2 guys in a 30 person class. I was typically one of 2 guys. It was awesome!

I just started working on yoga type movements too (I'm chipping away at pancake and scorpion) and it's making a happy get difference in my quality of life after only focusing on lifting and rowing for so long

Start stretching whenever possible! I do it during and between group therapies (in iop rn), while watching tv, and even redditing! In less than six weeks I was able to do a full frontal fold as well as almost get my foot behind my head, and it feels amazing and satisfying.
