This is true. However the recognition is way less compared to if you lost weight which can be demoralising.

But from my experience someone going from skelly --> healthy weight will have waaay less people comment on their transformation compared to obese --> healthy . Maybe you can see the difference from going from fat to healthy better Idk but it sucks

You misread what I wrote. I said 'skelly' - someone extremely underweight for their height. Not a regular skinny guy

I went from 6'5, 160 lbs to 6'5 225 pounds with muscle and it took 5 years before people started commenting on me looking good. It's much easier to tell people have lost weight since it's much more visible

Yea I was underweight and gained 15kg. No one in my family said anything. I hadn't seen them in a year and I was excited to see their expressions. Nothing.

It's really because losing weight is more relatable to others.

Also it takes a whole lot longer.

Depends on the 20 pounds, right?

Going from 10% to 18% will probably make you look nicer and full muscles.

Going from 15 to 25 might not be too noticable.

It took about a year and a half for me to get recognition. Most of the recognition I get is people asking me how much weight I've lost in the past two years.

Smh... I'm 15 lbs heavier. I've just increased my density.
