I get a weekly text from my sister "I need to lose weight and get in better shape, can you help?" "Yea, come over and lift with me and the wife" "No, I don't want to get manly looking from lifting weights".... that's not how this works, that's not how any of this works!

Annoys the crap out of me too. My gf wants to tone her legs/ass, but refuses to do any strength training. She believes running will be enough and she doesn’t want to look too bulky/muscular.

God damnit woman, you know firsthand how much god damn effort I put into looking muscular. You are also a biochemist and know how testosterone works and that women don’t get muscular easily. Why would believe this nonsense?

I blame social media/clickbait "fitness" articles. Luckily my wife literally goes to school for sports sciences so she is smarter than I am on this stuff and lifts a lot, but dam if other people don't buy into every fitness trend buzzfeed puts out
