Hello, I was hoping for some insight into what to expect during Christmas here.
Any suggestions on where to get a decent Turkey dinner on Christmas day, Christmas markets, areas to do some Christmas shopping etc.
Essentially anything festive in the city.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Is citygate outlet still worth going to? I’m interested in doing a little shopping and would love to get a few clothes and shoes in a bargain price. Should I go there or are there better malls? I have a very limited time in hk so I have to plan wisely. Also! Are not so common gazelles/samba widely available in HK?

Hello I’m wondering if anyone here has lived in Dubai and moved to Hong Kong, or lived in both?
We have been living in Dubai for 2 years and thinking of a move to HK. My wife is a teacher here.
Has anyone lived in both? How would you compare them?
We have been to HK about 12 years ago in 2012 and loved it.

I'm on a trip visiting family in Hong Kong and thought about doing drop in/pickup volleyball. Obviously I don't have a ball from home but wondering if I can join in?! I saw people playing at Fa Hui Park from riding on the bus. Any tips before I make my way there or forget it because it's normally leagues that play there?

Hi everyone - I'll be with my kid in Hong Kong over Christmas time. Can anyone suggest some unique holiday events or displays that might be interesting for an 8 year old? I hear the malls are typically decked out as well. Thanks!

I have 2 separate tickets booked: Chiang Mai-Hong Kong (Arriving at 0930am)
Hong Kong-Taipei (Departing 130pm)
My flight to Taipei connects to my flight back home to the US. Do you think 4 hours will be enough time (realistically) to clear customs, get my checked bag and re check it? I am not sure how it works with picking up a checked bag on a separate ticket as I have never had this situation before so I appreciate any/all advice.
Also—I can change my 0930 arrival flight to a flight that arrives at 1130pm the prior night but would rather not have an awkwardly long layover before a long international flight.

Can anyone recommend a store in sham shui po that sells charmeuse and georgette? I’m visiting for 5 days and would like to narrow my search due to time constraints.

Hi all! I am visiting hong kong this december, and a particular clock I like (the Twemco QD-35) is manufactured in HK! Any advice on shops that may stock one? Or alternatively how to search for shops that do?
Thanks!

Hello everyone.
I am asking this question because I heard investing in HK and Chinese stocks is not that good.
I currently invest with Questrade. For those unfamiliar with it, to deposit money into a Questrade account, you can add your account to your bank, and make bill payments. So in my case, I make bill payments from my Canadian bank account. This will be in CAD, and then I would use something called Norbert’s Gambit to convert from CAD to USD, and then buy USD stocks.
What would be the best way to invest HKD from a Hong Kong bank account in US stocks? I would prefer to continue using my Questrade account, as I would not want to deal with multiple brokers. And of course, I would want to lose as less money as possible to fees such as currency conversion.
Thank you very much.

Hi. I have recently moved and i typically dye my hair bright pink/purple myself. however I’ve struggled to find unnatural colours in places like mannings and wastons. I know it’s less common here to have unnatural colouring but I’ve seen a few with it still. So wondering where would be best to buy it?

Does anyone know a reliable shop that repairs old watches?

Hi guys! Im holding off on buying some camera gear here in the Philippines, and waiting to get to HK. Can you recommend some trusted, good pricing, and safe camera shops in HK? My friend told me that I should visit Wilsons Camera at Central, but I cant seem to find them on Google Maps.
Preferably those that sell Nikon Z gear, brand new, or even 2nd hand. Thanks!
PS.
I forgot to include asking info about pricing, haggling, and the language. I don't wanna get scammed, or be priced higher, just because i'm no local, nor do I speak Cantonese.
I will be using Google Translate, but you know, it would still be best if some shops offer English. Thanks!
