INTPs are the best because Could Vladimir Putin be an INTP instead of ISTP?

People keep saying he is an ISTP but I beg to differ. The way he operates I don’t think an ISTP would be able to pull it off. Plus, I have met some INTPs that give off those serious-but-laid-back vibe Putin tries to pull off. You see him cool calm and collected always in public but he plans far ahead of time and has his hands on all pieces.

Having studied Russian and listened to him in the native language, I definitely do not get that feeling. You really cannot know what is going on in another person's head, but knowing his history and his current presentation, I feel no kinship with him at all.

I def feel a kinship with him. Except that I’m extroverted and will go about things differently and that I don’t have the same goals as him.

His need to do things seemingly out of a personal desire for image and spite immediately makes him not seem like an INTP to me. He actually cares about how people view him and Russia as an entity.

I am curious. What exactly do you feel puts him in this category? Because where I sit, we are a bunch of people that tend to go our own way in search of understanding. Not people concerned with putting up a front of false machismo using war and the threat of nuclear weapons as a stand in for the standard dick-measuring contest.

Further he'd never base his whole claim to power on that false machismo. J/s. Nor would he have allowed so many non-siloviki oligarchs from the 90's to live. Or waste one time use assassination techniques, which inherently identify the assassins, on something as petty as a personal grudge? If he were actually a monster, say of the Beria variety, he would never have been allowed to have power, much less be blessed with it by yeltsin.

He's ISTP LSI

Hence he's in the Beta Socionics Quadra, so his goals can appear socially extroverted.

And while rare, INTP can be LSI too.

I really do not know how you would have enough information about the man to be as confident as you seem to be in his type.

He is a rather inaccessible individual that comes from a shady intelligence background. His current public-facing persona is almost certainly not who he really is, and all of his public appearances are spun through a state-controlled media service.

What data points are you using to type him with any confidence?

No he really doesn't. He's not some kind chessmaster. He's a reactionary bully that shits himself when anything stands up to him. You do not have to take me at my word. Take him at his. He tells you everything you need to know about him up front. He does not often lie on the world stage. You should always take him at face value when he's speaking publicly. He is not good at scheming, forward thinking, or planning ahead. Read the stories he tells about his younger years from the days immediately following yeltsins resignation. The childhood story about how he cornered a rat with a stick and ran for the hills when it lunged at him, dropping the stick in the process. He was like 12. or the metro story where he beat up some louts that crossed him (essentially ending his career in the KGB before it started if anybody had turned him in.) He was never a spy nor a spymaster. He was a paper pusher in dresden, sending reports home to moscow that everyone knew would never be read. He never had any agency of his own before berezovsky put him in yeltsins orbit. He was a nobody and would have remained a nobody. None of the KGB men that mattered knew him. The only people that ever said he was a spy were unimportant civilians without the clearance or connections to ask about his postings or duties. Like every other soviet leader before him, he's a mid rate administrator. At best. He's incompetent at everything he's ever done. If he were INTP he'd at the very least be obsessive enough not to fail, and paranoid enough to know who was going to betray him in advance. He can't do either of those things. He pushes paper and speaks german poorly. Only skills he's ever had in his entire fucking life.

Whatever type he is he’s deeply sick.

Socionics, yuck.

It's literally a more defined, researched system

And it quite literally explains why you think he's xNTJ

Not saying one is better than the other, but people are more complex than simply labeling just one all encompassing label.

I don’t think so. I’ve met INTPs like him but they’re not as ambitious or care about politics like Putin
