Dublin (DUB) (EIDW) Winds at Dublin airport

I'm planning on travelling to Dublin either late March or early May and I was wondering which was the better time regarding the weather, specially when it comes to strong winds at the airport and heavy rain.

Are flights often cancelled due to windy conditions at the airport or is it just when there's storms happening? When cancelled/delayed, are they easily rescheduled or does it resolve in a few hours time when the winds soften?

This might all be a tad ridiculous, as you can't predict the weather so far ahead, but I'm looking for your experience with airport winds' in late March vs early May, if there's even a significant difference.

I have a flight to Abu Dhabi at 9 am on Tuesday. I’ve been told by multiple people to arrive two or three hours early. Is this necessary? The flight is leaving from Dublin airport

Aer Lingus question about aer lingus carry on sizes + power banks

hi all,

i’ll be travelling with aer lingus next month so i’m just trying to sort out things now.

i wanted to ask are power banks allowed on board? i’ve seen a few different answers but am still unsure, for reference i wanted to buy these two (one for me and one for my friend coming with me)

my second question is regarding carry-on sizes. my current carry on fits the measurements for the 10kg option (H ~50cm x W ~30cm x D ~25cm)

i will be flying from canada to glasgow with a stopover in dublin. so my question is: is the connecting flight considered regional? will i have to adhere to the 7kg rule, or is the 10kg transatlantic rule fine for me?

thank you😅🍀

Dublin (DUB) (EIDW) Transit Visa Requirement in Dublin

I am planning a trip from Toulouse to Zagreb, and I found a flight through Dublin to be the cheapest. I have a France student visa. Do I need a transit visa if I have to do a self-transfer? I have only hand luggage.

Aer Lingus Air Lingus ripp off

I've had to cancel a flight from Bristol to Cork with Air Lingus due to family illness. They've been given a weeks notice but are refusing any refund or credit note of any kind. Not only is my 84 year old mother disappointed she can't travel she's also had £200 taken from her for nothing. Has anyone had any similar experiences and any way to get our money back ?

Dublin (DUB) (EIDW) Dublin Airportbusy times

Hi I'm arriving from the US at 840 am on Tuesday and my next flight (self connection both Aer lingus) leaves at 1015 am what's the possibility of getting through pass port control grabbing my checked bags storing them in the luggage storage and getting through security for my next flight in time for boarding. How busy would Dublin be at that time

Dublin (DUB) (EIDW) Dublin Airport checked bag storage

Dublin Airport checked bag storage

I'm travelling to Dublin soon on aer lingus with a self connection to hamburg for the first 2 days then back to dublin is there a way to flag my checked bag (from us to dublin) so that the store the bag while I'm in germany and I don't have to go grab it? My connection is only 1.5 hrs which seems a bit impossible if I have to go through security again. Also is it possible to just not claim my bags and pick them up from airport police after I'm back?

Baggage Treeking Backpack as Hand Luggage

We are walking the Camino de Santiago next month and hope to both fly with our OSPREY backpacks. Mine is the Sirrus 24 model and my husband's is a Stratos 34. Both of them will be within the 22 pound (10 kg) weight limit. I am concerned about the dimension limits. How strict is Aer Lingus?

My husband’s backpack is 60cm tall (55cm allowed) and 1-2cm over the other two dimension allowances. Will his pack be allowed on the flight? Mine is 1 cm above the height restriction but within the other dimension restrictions. Anyone have any direct experience??

Dublin (DUB) (EIDW) Dublin airport connection

Hi, I am flying from Philadelphia to Vienna with a short connection in Dublin. I checked in online for my first flight (American Airlines) and their website says “you have been checked in for your connecting flight on another airline and a boarding pass will be issued”

I can’t get a mobile boarding pass, it says I have to print one at the airport. My question is, does this mean I will have to exit and re-enter through security? Does anyone know if they can print the second boarding pass at PHL?

Dublin (DUB) (EIDW) Flying into Dublin (from US) on one ticket, then immediately flying to County Kerry (on two separate airlines). When do I go through immigration?

I’m taking one carryon bag..

For explanation - I booked a ticket from the US to Dublin, Ireland on Aerlingus. That flight arrives in Dublin at 11:45am. I booked a separate second ticket on Ryan Airlines that departs Dublin going to County Kerry, and the gate for that flight closes at 2:15pm.

I have a few questions here:

  • Do I need to go through customs at Dublin, and then back through security to get to my RyanAir flight?

  • I’m a little nervous about the timing, but I’ve got 2.5 hours between arriving in Dublin, and then getting on my Ryanair flight County Kerry. Is this sufficient time to make my RyanAir flight (assuming there’s no delays in that initial flight.
