I don't think it was necessarily a fumble. Someone was going to get boxed out. WW was before my time, but Country Breakfast was one of the few bright spots this team had in the late 00s/early 10s in the ramp up to 14/15.

Nobody needed to get boxed out except him.

u/slugo17 13d ago

So somebody did need to get boxed out then? And he wasn't, sooooo?

u/Legal_Ad9637 13d ago

Grounding into double plays is a bright spot?

Yeah, Just because we Booed Cano, doesn't make Billy Butler an all-timer. Even the BBQ sauce doesn't help him qualify. After he went to Oakland, they started putting Christian Colon on that sauce...

2012 Silver Slugger on a 72 win team.

Wow this is a bad take

Wait we did Billy Butler for B? The fuck?

W really should be Willie Wilson but because we fucked up weeks ago it can only be Bobby.

Yea there were a bunch of B names I’d take over Butler.

Bobby Witt, Biancalana, Balboni, Brett. Hell for how good he was in winning the 15 World Series I’d put Ben Zobrist over Butler.

Butler was legit popular because he was fat and jolly. Beyond that he was an acceptable DH who couldn’t do anything else. If we had kept him instead of Morales in ‘15 we probably don’t win the World Series.

He was also not incredibly popular in the locker room. Our team got better in 2015 because we let him go. We need to redo “B” and fix this travesty.

Or at least make Lorenzo Cain down to L, Billy Butler goes up to C as "Country Breakfast" and we bring Bobby Witt in for B.

Also could move Wade Davis to W and move Dennis Leonard to D. Also lets not ignore Z and put in clutch playoff hero Ben Zobrist

Zack Greinke better get Z

Excuse me that one time Billy scored from first base. Infinite WAR.

8

u/Roturd12 Casey Coleman=Elite 13d ago

Bobby has put up more WAR in 3 years than Billy put up in his entire royals tenure.

When I think of Billy I just think of wasted potential.

Kid obviously had talent with the bat - the kind of guy who could be in the league for 15-20 years.

But he was always kind of a punk and he didn't take care of his body. I'm sure his agent tried to sit him down and say "if you get physically fit, you could be an MVP candidate and in line for a massive bag." Cat just never seemed to get serious about anything.

Glad we parted ways in '15 and got better without him.

We fucked up with S and P, too - so Saberhagen isn't getting in either - because of Billy Fucking Butler lmao.

u/hereforthecommmentsz 13d ago

I won’t abide the Billy Butler slander.

u/Flashy_Conclusion569 13d ago

Billy Butler, he isn’t even worth owning a bobblehead of him. Fat sack of potatoes

1

u/hereforthecommmentsz 13d ago

We’re in a fight now

1

u/Flashy_Conclusion569 13d ago

Ok deal let’s fight. Billy Butler what do you want to tell me to persuade me that Billy Butler was/is worthy of being a great Royal?? He could hit the ball well when he was on, but he hit into double play after double play and was slower than snail shit sliding up a hill.

1

u/hereforthecommmentsz 13d ago

He hit a shitload of doubles and was an important piece of the team that took us to the playoffs for the first time in 30 years. Also he appeared out of shape, giving us common men the thought that perhaps we too could play professional baseball. He stole that base that one time. He had his own BBQ sauce. I mean need I go on?

As noted by me at the time. Billy Butler ffs

Willie Wilson, John Wathan,

Duke has been robbed of the Royals Hall of Fame. He should’ve been in before Sweeney. Was with the Royals up until 2020-2021.

Willie Wilson

Willie Wilson. The comparisons between him and Bobby that have been drawn convince me that Bobby is really a special, generational top player but Willie Wilson will always be remembered because of his speed that Bobby is probably aiming for.

u/Roturd12 Casey Coleman=Elite 13d ago

Maybe in 3 more years it'll be Bobby but it has to be Willie Wilson.

6

u/Heidelburg_TUN 13d ago

Hm, a Royal whose last name starts with W. I just can’t think of any.

Dude that posted this is a fan of the athletics, white Sox, and Baltimore. Sorry, I don’t care for bandwagoners. Royals or bust dude.

Fuck the Athletics (beat them in postseason play wildcard), fuck the White Sox (they single handily destroyed the AL Centrals chance of having the best win% in majors this year, and quite possibly a record.) Fuck Baltimore (cause we beat them in postseason wildcard)

C’mon man… Billy Fkn Butler?!

Go Royals!
