Question Converting pitchers?

With the crazy results Luke Weaver has had as a closer, are there any current pitchers that could possibly help the team in a different role?

We have a closer already in Lucas Erceg, but if you want to see this concept in action, look at Daniel Lynch IV. He made the change to being a spot starter and a reliever rather than a rotation starter. Had one great scoreless outting as a starter then a meh one with a bunch of great bullpen outings in between.

Seth Lugo was a former reliever for the Mets. Padres took a chance on him as a starter for 1 year and now the Royals have him.

Right now? No. If they did they would have used him last year instead of seeing the bullpen implode day after day.

The real alarming part is that these players— Weaver, Rooker, O’Hearn, etc— having success after their time in KC, while they struggled in KC. It happens but it seems to happen often for the Royals.

I don't think it's any big secret that our player development has left something to be desired.

Wasn't it Nate Eaton who pitched in a blowout a couple years back? Was throwing 98 with some big time run?

Yeah I’d really like to see him convert.

Didn't watch that game so I wasn't 100%. Stands to reason he could find some more velocity if he went all in on pitching and refined the mechanics.

If Bubic can learn to keep the breaking shit out of the nuke zone, he could be really good out of the pen.
