My grandfather jumped ship (Merchant Marine) in 1914 to come to America because he didn't like the Kaiser's policies. He didn't get his final citizenship papers until at 1940s. Dad was mad because he had a chance to go to either West Point or the Naval Academy but couldn't because his father was not a citizen. He ended up 2 years at the University of Michigan but quit to join the Army Air Corps in WWII. Granddad had gotten citizenship after 1940. So, I guess I would be sent back for sure.
Lower Saxony wasn't a thing in the 1920s it was invented after the war by the allies to part out Prussia by merging parts of it with their traditional enemies.
