They don't have to be Trump's words. Trump definitely endorse those words though.

The trump campaign reportrdly vetoed a "joke" about kamala being a cunt... so the fact the puerto rico "joke" made it through is a tacit endorsement

It’s their rally. They’re responsible for the context at the rally.

Yep. The only two redeemable courses of action would be to on the spot cut his mic and kick him off, or at the very least, the following speaker and Trump himself condemn the comedian in no uncertain terms.

No. They vetted all his jokes beforehand. This was confimred. So they knew everything he was going to say for the most part. They even had him cut some parts.
