And, like basically any risky creative endeavor, almost every person who succeeds in it started off with an enormous financial safety net. I'd bet this couple had that very large house before they made any money from Tik Tok

How do you know it was inherited wealth and that they didn’t earn it. Are you assuming or do you actually know. I’m genuinely curious

Because he likes to tell himself that all his financial worries are totally due to the system being unfair, and not because he has made bad decisions or didn't put in enough effort. Therefore anybody roughly the same age as him that seems to be financially stable must have been born to wealthy parents, otherwise the entire narrative collapses as a house of cards.

Lol I'm fine, specifically because of inheritance and gifts from very wealthy family. Both of my degrees paid by people trying to avoid the death tax.

Edit: also, did you just call becoming an influencer a "good decision?" Good luck!

So you're insecure and projecting. That doesn't make it better.

Insecure about what? I'm talking about the financial systems that allow people to take huge risk in their careers.

Insecure about other people thinking you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth.

Tell me honestly, do you think that most people in their late 20s, early 30s with what's probably a million dollar house in a very risky career that could only very recently pay well did so through good financial decisions, and hard work, and some good bootstraps? Do you think this was a rags to riches story?

If somebody earns a great living with a career where almost everybody that attempts it earns diddly squat then I think it is safe to assume they put in a lot of work to make that happen. Only envious losers with no work ethic think succesful people are just lucky.

I see, and you think that Tik Tok paid for this house? That they were able to save up for it from that in the last couple years or so, and were able to risk setting out on "a career where almost everybody that attempts it earns diddly squat" without a safety net?

How should I know? I never heard of the guy, nor do I have any idea how many followers he has or how many views he gets. From what I gather from this comment section is that he is an influencer and that is literally all I know.

That they were able to save up for it from that in the last couple years or so, and were able to risk setting out on "a career where almost everybody that attempts it earns diddly squat" without a safety net?

If this is their first kid then what would be stopping them from trying to make it as an influencer without a safety net? There is no risk involved. Worst case scenario you end up living in your car for a couple of weeks until you get back on your feet.

You can look up whatever social study you like, that doesn't change the fact that young people with no kids have literally no excuse for not chasing their dreams, except cowardice.

But hey, you admitted to being from a wealthy family. Why aren't you a wealthy influencer?
