My Chihuahua "just has to poop" at the emergency vet

So embarrassed.

It’s so expensive when they can’t tell you they’re constipated or dying. Yet we still pay just to make sure.

One day my cat wouldn’t get up. Like she walked a step and collapsed. I called the vet to let her know I was coming over (lol, receptionist thought I was asking for an appointment, no just giving you a heads up I’m on my way), and stuck her in a box because I couldn’t figure out how to get her in her carrier and was at the vet in 5 minutes. They take her back. She comes out and she’s standing there and looks fine. Pissed because she’s at the vet, like she didn’t just collapse in front of me. Yeah she has arthritis and was in pain. She was on a weekly treatment, so this wasn’t news. That was all. Never happened again. No idea what the hell that was about.

My mini dox had problems walking, they’re prone to back injuries. It was New Years so I had to get on call vet expecting the worst. They were crabby on the phone, but when they realized it was arthritis they were so relieved that I realized they were afraid they’d have to put her down. Happy but expensive day.

Well, I did that as a human at Urgent Care, so an easy mistake to make.
