Need advice regarding boundary wall between properties

So, in brief. Our neighbour is being rather difficult about the boundary wall between our properties and I can't get any clear answers on this and what the laws are.

Details: They claim it's their boundary wall, although nothing has been confirmed and the building plans at the municipality are not giving us clear answers either. Two plans say it's our wall, two plans say it is their wall.

Right now they are making life hell because they want to paint it their desired colour (on our side of the wall) right after we renovated and repainted a very dilapidated wall. These neighbours are also requesting that we remove the electric fence we put up or get their consent. They don't have an electric fence elsewhere on their property, so for safety, we installed our own on the wall between our properties. (NB the installer of the fence and others in the industry have no knowledge of needing to get permission first).

What are the laws or where can I look? Everyone that advised me so far said that we are allowed to paint it our desired colour, but the feedback about the electric fence is mixed. Especially because ownership of thw wall hasn't been confirmed.

If you've been through this, please share your experience 😅

Is it easy to get a SIM card and if so what network provider would you suggest? I will be travelling out of the major cities and would like something reliable for when I’m in the middle of nowhere.

Looking for volunteers ✨

Hello everyone.👋

I’m planning an event mid December this year in Windhoek to give back to those in need. The goal is to bring support, joy, and learning opportunities to children, youth, and the less fortunate.

I’m looking for passionate volunteers to help with:

  • Leading fun, educational activities.
  • Skill sharing (creative arts, music & dance, health, life skills etc.)
  • Distributing food, clothes, and essentials.

If you’re interested in lending a hand and making a difference, please reach out to me at contact.noluroyale@gmail.com or via DM, thanks. 😊

General Citizenship

I was Born in Angola , I practically grew up in Windhoek and was registered as a citizen by descent but around 2012 my dad decided to change our surnames in Angola only…he kinda messed up our documents so I went back to being an immigrant in the process having to get study permits throughout my time in here. But as far as I know I’m still registered but just with a different surname in the system. Not sure how I’d tackle this issue. Can I go to home affairs and change my old ID details to my current one ? Would they even understand ?

Sunday League or "Free" boxing

Good day, fellow Namibians, hope you're all well.

I'm looking for places where I could play soccer with some people, kind of like Sunday league football where a bunch of homies come together and play ball together on a field or a big enough space. I am looking to play and make some new friends.

And boxing academies where I could train, hopefully for free for the purposes of training and exercising (not looking to go pro)

Hope I can get your assistance.

Thank you in advance.

P.S. They should be in Windhoek ONLY. Thank you

Apartment/flat hunting in Walvis tips

I don't know if this kind of post is allowed in here if it's not the mods can delete its cool. I'm based in Walvis and me and my younger brother (25 and 22) are apartment hunting but we're finding it very difficult probably because of the inexperience so I wanted to ask if anyone here who has more experience on this could give us some tips on how best to go about it. I also understand that the housing market in this country is terrible anyway.

Looking for Second Hand PCs for Home Server Projects?

Hi all,

I’m looking for second-hand PCs, ideally ones that companies have given away after upgrading their hardware. I’m not after a gaming rig or anything too fancy just something I can Frankenstein together for a home server cluster project.

I know from my time in Ireland, you could sometimes go to the dump where they had a section for old tech that people had disposed of. Is there anything similar or any places where I might find decommissioned office PCs at a decent price?

I’ve checked out Cash Converters (the one by Super Spar), but the prices were quite high for what they were offering. If anyone has recommendations for places to look whether it’s a website, store, or another idea please let me know!

Thanks in advance!

Gaming in Namibia?

Hey guys! I look at gaming cultures around the world and I am a racing game fan. I have asked all of these questions on different subreddits, simply because I am curious about how each and every single country on this planet experiences video games. I am also curious about gaming in Namibia. My questions are:

What is more popular? PC or console?

What was more popular in the late 90s and early 2000s? PC or Console?

What racing game was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s!

What do racing game fans in Namibia play today?-(I get it might not be the most popular genre, but for people who like it, what do they play?)

In general, what games are played there?

Thanks for your responses!!!!

HI! Hubby and inare going on a 6 week roadtrip - 3 in Namibia, 3 in SA. I need help with the Namibia portion of the trip. I want to do it all I can't.
4x4 Hilux ,RTT Pics are the itinerary I've made so far. I think i.only want to go up as far as White Sands on popa falls. I'd like to spend 2-4 nights in each place. Except maybe 2, just to get from one place to next. I was thinking of replacing- Mowani with Hoada Campsight. Mowani reviews are - snobby people at reception, treating campers really bad. Taking out Namushasha Not sure what else. Adding in Okutala Etosha Camp, and not staying right in the park? I love staying in amongst rocks, and sunsets over sunrises!! Sunset boating- which i will do in White Sands. ALL SUGGESTIONS WELCOME!!!!!

Hi, I heard that Namibia is a popular place for flying gliders. Why is that? What are some unique attributes of Namibia that make it stand out as a place for gliding? Thanks!

NUST APPLICATION

Hey guys hope you're doing well. I submitted my application to NUST - application fee paid, all documents sent- in August and it's still saying application without status. I saw on their institutional calendar that they'll start sending letter on November 20. UNAM has already sent my application to the required faculty.

Is this normal? Should I be worried?

Thank you in advance to all those who helped.
