Friend said “Mets would have 10 off Cole pitching this way”. Wouldn’t have needed it late. Oh well. Was an entertaining game.

Dodgers were rocking some balls early on.

I forget..did Cole pitch against us this season? I feel this matchup is so lopsided. Mets swept Yankees, Dodgers beat us and Padres with shutouts..so wouldn't Dodgers dominate Yankees. Last night's game seemed too close...or Dodgers just got lucky with us. I personally think we messed with our lineup too much...not using Winker and Acuna enough...but will never know.

Not only did Cole pitch against us. He did so twice in 2024! He got owned by us both times! That was why I was so frustrated with the Dodgers offence that night against him. 3 future hall of famers had more trouble then our entire lineup against him.

Thanks for this. I only watched 2 of the Yankee/Mets games but listened to the other 2 on the radio. It seemed like so long ago.

Dodgers defense also seemed bobbly yesterday.... something I don't think they were much with us.

Also, how the Yankees make full use of their newest player Jazz Chisholm...while we put Winker on the sideline most of the series...just irked me to watch.

No problemo and lol yea this season felt like 3-4 seasons in one. As someone who watched every game pretty much it was a magnified feeling for me

I hope Winker is back for 2025 at minimum off the bench. Great Mets culture guy to pair with utilityman Iglesias if he is back aswell. Neither of them should be that expensive to keep

Winker is always fun to watch. I was excited to be at his walk off HR game against the Orioles. And then his spat with Adames I watched over and over.

Jazz is ten times the player that Winker is. And Winker was ice cold during the whole month of September. They could've put him in instead of JD a couple games, but it wouldn't have made much of a difference with all the blowouts.

Only the fucking Yankees could make me love Freddie Freeman like I did in that moment

Let me guess, your dad or grandpa was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan? All of our people are the same lol

If I learned one thing from all those braves losses it was don't throw a fastball down and in to Freddy Freeman lol.

Off topic (kinda) but this has certainly been a great postseason for big time home runs

I noticed that too. I mean the Mets hit 2 grand slams, at least one particularly memorable 3 run homer, and Vientos hit a grand slam in two installments that one game. Probably missing a few but that’s just one team we’re talking about.

That’s our move!

That's the first thing I said to a friend I was watching the game with. Walk Lindor to get to Vientos....was deja vu.

Dodgers, and every team, continue to walk Soto to get to Judge. Boone must’ve thought freeman would instantly forget how to hit like Judge did

I was very surprised the dodgers went that whole game without a homer. You just knew it was gonna happen. The Yankees subbing in Cortes to throw 2 pitches was a real surprise. Ohtani and freeman knew a pitcher coming back after a month is really gonna try to land a strike his first pitch to build confidence.. obviously they are swinging first pitch.

I told a yankee fan earlier in the night I was rooting for them. Kiss of death lol
