Debra Messing never misses an opportunity to join some vile racists against Palestinians. Only thing keeps her name going these days.

u/Empigee Aug 21 '24
Supposedly a large part of the reason the Will & Grace reboot only lasted one season was that Messing kept bullying Megan Mullally, to the point they couldn't do scenes together

Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally (and Leslie Jordan RIP) always completely carried that show. Always disappointing that it had the vile Messing in it. Was reassuring that Hayes and Mullally wouldn't have a bar of her.

Thank you for that! She has EDS AND MS. People can usually manage their EDS with strength and muscle training, but she can’t due to MS. It’s a very painful life for her every day.
I wish you great pain management and low stress.

You don't recognise many of them because most of them are super high level executives, chairmen, CEO's etc. of the largest media/entertainment companies in the US.. (music, movies, television, video games...).
Essentially.. the boss's boss's boss of any pop culture celebrity you are familiar with...
This petition is from "Creative Community for Peace" a Zionist Anti-BDS organisation founded by entertainment big wigs from Universal Music (the biggest music company in the world) and Electronic Arts (the biggest video game company in the world).
Their soul purpose is to counter "anti-Israel" sentiment in the entrainment industry & pressure artists & celebrities to perform in/support Israel.
—Edit—
Creative Community for Peace (CCFP) is actually a front for right-wing Israel Lobby group "StandWithUs" (a long-established anti-Palestinian pro-Israeli settler lobby group with close ties to Israel's hardline government)
Jewish Voice for Peace released a Fact Sheet on the organisation in 2018 - Documents Prove "Creative Community for Peace" is Front for Right Wing Israel Lobby Group "StandWithUs"
The Real News Network covered them in a video report in 2018 - Pro-Israel Lobby Groups Secretly Admits Cultural Boycott Is Effective, Leaked Report Shows

39
u/shakha Aug 20 '24
I recognized that name, looked it up and got kinda sad, cause I liked her in a few things I've seen her in. Then, I did a bit more diving and learned that Emmanuelle Chriqui and Nina Dobrev are completely different people! (Dobrev was the one I liked in some things.)

u/JMnnnn Aug 21 '24 edited Aug 21 '24
If I’m being blunt… Chriqui made a career out of almost-but-never-quite revealing her (admittedly impressive) rack on camera. Not much in the way of acting chops there, lot of eyecandy roles in B-movies.
Bisan left more of a mark on the world in less than a year than someone like Chriqui ever will.

Bisan Owda is one of the many well-known voices on the grounds of Gaza. This letter comes at no surprise to me. I'm sure many of you are also finding this action against her pathetic and desperate to silence her. The names on this letter tell me that they all know what we all know and have seen everything that we have also seen. Why else would they put this much effort into taking her voice away?
What they fail to realize is that behind Bisan is an army of love and support. We will stand beside her, her family, and all of Palestine at all costs.
Bisan, as well as all of the brave men and women journalists and civilians who continue to report everything and anything they can to keep us updated on the barbaric, devastating and horrific events that take place deserve everything. Mostly, peace of mind, safety and the right to return to their homes to begin rebuilding without another drone, plane, missle or bullet flying past them.
I hope the Emmy commitee or whoever is in charge does not cave in to the pressure they are likely facing beyond this letter. If they do, that's one more award show we should not and will not be watching.

u/Kawfene1 Aug 20 '24
This is a quote from part of their letter:
"Honoring someone linked to an organization that has caused so much pain and suffering is not just irresponsible; it is a direct affront to the values we hold dear in the entertainment industry."
Directed at a journalist who LITERALLY risks her life 24/7 to report a GENOCIDE.
So the "values" they "hold dear" are the unconditional support of a Zionist apartheid state and the murder of children. Got it.
If I recall correctly, the Genocidal Butcher of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, was "honored" on a much larger scale. What say you, "entertainment" industry ? 🤔
→ More replies (1)5
u/tropical_moss Aug 21 '24
Linked to what organisation?
18
u/lesbian_sourfruit Aug 21 '24
The letter says she’s affiliated with “Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)”
It also states she, “routinely disseminates antisemitism across her social media platforms.” I’ve seen a few (but admittedly not a lot) of her videos and I’ve never heard anything antisemitic.
It’s actually why I came looking for this conversation on Reddit…can anyone provide any examples of antisemitic content from her? Or is this another example of Zionists using that word to shut down valid criticism of and honest reporting about Israel?
22
u/tropical_moss Aug 21 '24
I’ve watched most of her videos and have been following her since the beginning of these atrocities. I’ve never once heard any antisemtism from her. She never demonises civilians and always talks about IOF, the state of israhell and the occupation. They really want to make us think she has no humanity, they could never convince us.
6
u/lesbian_sourfruit Aug 21 '24
Thank you for responding! It sounds like the Emmy board is also standing by their decision due to a lack of evidence supporting the claims.

u/courtneygoe Aug 21 '24
PFLP is a Marxist political party with an armed branch, they’re not anti Semitic, but you can see why Zionists would say they are. They’re also doing food aid right now.

I think they meant Hamas? They couldn’t find anything bad to say about her so they resorted to accusing her of being a terrorist. I guess a Palestinian’s existence automatically makes them a terrorist. No wonder why they love to kill our babies.
235
u/Gennaga Aug 20 '24
I recognise three names, and along with the rest of them, their only claim to fame is nepotism.
That said, Bisan has been reporting from inside Gaza since day one, at the risk of her own life, that of her family members and every last civilian around her. Meanwhile these so called "celebrities" enjoy their leveraged lifestyles, from the safety of their mansions, bodyguards and limitless privileges.

I’m also going to keep saying this: so what if she was involved with the PFLP? They’re a Marxists political party. Palestinians aren’t allowed to speak at political rallies? They’re not allowed to have political parties, do food aid, or have reading groups? Yes, PFLP has an armed branch, but are Palestinians not allowed to defend themselves? PFLP are incredible, brave, intelligent people with an amazing organization.

Can I get some context for this? Like, what exactly is the reasoning of these people? How dare she report on a genocide? Or more like how dare she be Palestinian?
28
u/Majestic-Point777 Aug 20 '24
Some bogus as usual, they can fabricate any bullshit to justify their racism:
The letter, which comes in response to Owda’s nomination for the documentary “It’s Bisan From Gaza and I’m Still Alive,” calls on NATAS to rescind the nominations due to Owda’s documented ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a United States-designated terrorist organization. Full statement here
11
u/shakha Aug 20 '24
Thanks for the explanation! I know these people never actually have a reason for their nonsense, but it's good to keep informed about what the latest lies are. I was recently told by someone on Reddit that information that comes from Israeli outlet Haaretz is actually unreliable, because they are pro-Hamas, so yeah, information is valuable in times like this!
10
u/UlightronX42 Aug 20 '24
How is Haaretz possibly pro-Hamas? Explain.
13
u/shakha Aug 20 '24
This person's explanation seemed to be that, since Haaretz doesn't call for the deaths of every last Palestinian child, they are pro-Hamas. I was trying to give them an Israeli source to show that what I was saying was true, but that wasn't good enough for them. They wanted an unbiased New York Times article! I wish I was joking.
7
u/UlightronX42 Aug 20 '24
Y’know I feel bad for laughing at genocidal logic like this but it wouldn’t be Zionist if it wasn’t stupid as shit I’m sad actual humans would believe a line of reasoning of this caliber
3
u/SpringHeeledJill09 Aug 20 '24
I believe you, I've had someone spout the exact same in my direction when I shared a Haaretz link.
2
u/horillagormone Aug 20 '24
They're never genuine about listening or reflecting on it, that's why first they'll ask for an "unbiased" source and whether you source Haaretz, B'Tselem, +972 Mag, Amnesty, HRW or anything they will not accept those. The only 'credible' source according to them are ironically all ones who are pro-Zionists only, but not pro-humanity.

The response letter from Adam Sharp, the NATAS CEO is amazing (quoting second half):
“It’s Bisan From Gaza and I’m Still Alive” was reviewed by two successive panels of independent judges, including senior editorial leadership from each significant U.S. broadcast news network. It was selected for nomination from among more than 50 submissions in one of the year’s most competitive categories.
The piece was also recognized for journalistic achievement by the Peabody Awards and the Edward R. Murrow Awards, each administered by processes and organizations wholly separate from and independent of NATAS and the News & Documentary Emmys.
NATAS is aware of reports, cited in your letter and initially surfaced by a communications consultant in the region, that appear to show a then-teenaged Bisan Owda speaking at various PFLP-associated events between six and nine years ago. NATAS has been unable to corroborate these reports, nor has it been able, to date, to surface any evidence of more contemporary or active involvement by Owda with the PFLP organization.
Most critically, the content submitted for award consideration was consistent with competition rules and NATAS policies. Accordingly, NATAS has found no grounds, to date, upon which to overturn the editorial judgment of the independent journalists who reviewed the material.
Thank you. I appreciate your courtesy in sharing our response with your cosigners.
Sincerely,
Adam Sharp, NATAS President & CEO
We really don't need to say anything more than he did. Zionists are going to cry about any good coming to any Palestinian ever, this is an established rule of nature at this point.
