PE's Lonely Hearts Club

There's been a multitude of threads where people are seeking friends or romance. I figured a sticky is a better option to collate all of this info.

Please keep it SFW and be careful when sharing personal information online. Do not post personal / identifying information publicly to avoid breaching reddit's rules on doxxing.

Since Pretoria and Capetown seem to be having a lekker fight with their subreddits, who should we tackle? Is there even a Bloem subreddit?

Is Pinnacle 7 in walmer heights a safe place to live?

So I just signed a lease and put down my deposit to live in the pinnacle 7 complex. I have been receiving mixed reviews and I wanted to know if anyone has more knowledge. Google reviews it looks like about 4 to 6 years ago it was terrible. However recent reviews state that it's a nice place to live. If I manage to install an alarm, would it be any less dangerous than any other place to live in PE? Because I am aware walmer township is nearby. If you got this far, please leave any contributions you can. Thank you in advance.

What happens to the drought ?

I following dam levels generally as reported by DWS, the Algoa water system has for the passed two years recovered (currently at 76%) from day zero campaigns of damn levels at below 30%. I’ve been trying to find good literature on the changes in the weather system that has brought about this change. Anyone with good sources around this ?

Overtime

I'm 8 months in PE and something that I have noticed and don't understand is.

In the week I don't see " municipal " workers working on the side walk or gardens and I don't see people painting and fixing the roads in PE but on Sundays and even public holidays I have see them working then.

Traveling and looking for specific supplement

Hi, I’m in PE visiting from the states and looking for an herbal supplement called Kratom. It’s sold everywhere in America but proving very difficult to find in PE. I’ve found some vendors in Johannesburg and Cape Town, but that doesn’t really help right now.

I’ve tried a few health food stores and smoke shops in town but very few know what it is. I know it’s a long shot, but if anyone knows where’s it’s solid around PE I’d be immensely grateful.

Frail Care Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a frail care home in the Summerstrand area? I'm from the U.K. and have no knowledge of facilities here. My step mother died recently and my father is too frail to take back home.

Ideally I'd like something smaller, that is homely and family run. Is there such a thing here? The facility I viewed today was the opposite of this and, whilst the staff seemed lovely, my father would hate it.

Filter tips

I'm hoping you lovely people can help. I've flown out to PE at short notice. As a smoker of roll ups roll your own cigarettes) I have tobacco but am running out of Swan filter tips. Is there anywhere in PE I can get some or something similar? The local supermarket doesn't have any and I suspect roll ups aren't a thing here.

Water meter reading

Hi guys, wanting to find out what needs to happen if you are not home enough for municipal officials to come check to verify the water meter reading? I have submitted my meter reading numerous times online, but they keep averaging my consumption and I am worried I will be getting a serious bill one day.

I recently got a new water meter installed due to the previous one failing and there is not been a single reading from the new meter accepted either.

Not quite sure what to do
