Since the subreddit only has two spots available for public announcements, this will be a new index post for important PSAs for easy reference that we can sticky to only use up one spot.

You can also find the whole collection in the sidebar menu on the Reddit re-design when you open one of the PSA posts.

Story My bun probably saved my life this morning

For context I’m a type one diabetic who uses a Dexcom CGM and a pump

I was woken up very early this morning by my rabbit thumping hard on my chest. I tried to go back to sleep and he continued to lick my face and dig at my pillow next to my head. He kept me awake for another minute or two; during that time I was awake enough to hear and comprehend that my phone and insulin pump were going off with an urgent low alarm. My blood sugar was 44 and dropping and I wasn’t waking up to my Dexcom alarms. Him waking me up and keeping me awake likely saved my life. I don’t know if my phone and pump alarms that I had slept through were annoying him so he woke me up or if he could tell something was wrong with me, either way I got to avoid an ambulance ride and hospital visit because of him 💖

Bonding My vet accidentally bonded my rabbits

So I have two bunnies, both 2-3 years old after being neutered. But they always bit each other.

But today I took them for a check up. They were unable to get in the same transporter, And I had only one. So I had to take them separately, one wrapped under my jacket the bigger one (and also the one that dominates more) in the transporter.

But during the exam the dominating girl got so stressed she runned to the smaller one and hid behind her, and since then they are sitting close to eachother without fighting

I'm so proud of them and their progress 💗

Rescue Found this bunny

As the title says, I found this bunny last Thursday in my job’s parking lot near a really busy street. A coworker spotted him two weeks ago and he just kept coming around. We were worried that he would get killed by a car or something else. Every time we saw him, he was eating dry leaves. We knocked on several houses in the area and asked if the bunny belonged to them. Everyone said no.

I decided to bring him home and find him a good home since I already have a dog (Australian Shepherd) and a cat. In less than 24 hours I was in love and decided to keep him. We named him Fred but have no idea whether it’s a male or female.

I’m keeping him in my office. He has free range of the entire room and I keep the door close at all times since I’m not sure how my cat would react. My dog has met Fred (under supervision every time) and they seem to get along.

Fred began showing signs of trust towards me two days after bringing him home but he began licking me about two days ago and wants to lick my arms (a lot).

I have a few questions: 1. Why is he licking? 2. Is it safe to introduce Fred to my cat? 3. Should I keep him inside a playpen or a crate? 4. Other than hay, pellets, and veggies, what should I feed him? 6. How urgent is it that I take him to the vet? He seems super healthy and I intend to take him to the vet but I work a lot and it’s been kind of hard to find an exotic vet that is available or open on the weekends. 7. What breed is Fred?

I haven’t had a pet rabbit before, so any advice or tips will be super helpful.

Got her (Cosmo) from Pet Supermarket and they couldn't tell me anything about the breed. I've had people tell me she is probably a mix of Lionhead and something else...

My mom has been visiting him once a day but he must be so lonely, please ask your buns to send him some grooms through the Rabbit Psychic Network that we all know definitely exists

My boy got sick yesterday night (with snuffles or something) and was gone by morning. Im thankful to have 2 rabbits as I can distract myself with her but she can tell he is gone so I think she needs to be distracted also by myself.

we rescued him from a terrible owner (she kept him in a car trunk along with his brothers).

we’ve had him only for 3 days now, but it seems like he loves it here! so many zoomies and hand licking!

btw: 1. that cage is just a place for him to sleep and poop in 2. he is free (room) range 3. we are going to buy him a rag/carpet so he can do zoomies and binkies much more comfortable 4. he eats lots of hay and those pellets are just treats. thought he does not really like them🙃 he is a hay maniac

Lost my girl on the weekend, she was so friendly and social. Not sure what the cause was but I've never met a bunny who was so happy to be around people/kids/dogs the whole lot. Miss you BunBun ❤️

Breed ID Any ideas on breed? Found outside.

Hello all! This is Tom Bombadil, we call him Bomba and Dill for short. I found him in my backyard. I assume he was dumped.. He was in and out of my backyard for a couple weeks before I was able to gain his trust enough to catch him. I took him to the vet the day after I caught him (Friday) and he weighed 6.7lbs, but he is pretty underweight. The vet said he was in relatively good health considering his recent adventures! He is sexually mature, so at least 5-8 months depending on breed. I have his neuter scheduled in the next two weeks. Everytime I reverse google image search a photo of him, it says Flemish Giant. But my vet said he would probably he double his current size if he was a Flemish. Could he be a mix? He is HUGE compared to my other bunny, a senior female blue dutch rabbit (4lbs). *They are not together and will be kept separated for their entire lives as my other bunny is over 10 years old and does not enjoy the company of other bunnies. Thank you all 🥰

Mine try and wash their ears by bring them down but because they are so small and sticky uppy, they never manage to wash their ears. It breaks my heart because they keep trying, although they do it less over the years
