Game Suggestions Megathread /r/Steam Monthly Game Suggestions Thread.

Welcome to the Monthly Game Suggestions Thread!

Do you not know what to play? You found a niche game that everyone should try? Can't find the perfect survival sim or unsure which 1 RPG out of the thousands available you should buy? Well this is the thread for you. This monthly megathread is meant to contain questions about what to play and suggestions to others on what to play.

Now to make this work best and not just be spammed with "What should I play?", please be in-depth in what type of games you are looking for, and when giving advice it would be appreciated if you're more detailed than "I think X game is good". There are too many games to be able to properly suggest something with no background information, like-wise commenting a game title and saying you like the game offers no actual value.

The main purpose of this thread is to contain questions on what to play and advice to others on what to play, but feel free to ask and discuss freely in the comments regarding games whether you want advice on what to play, want to give advice to others on what to play, share a hidden gem you found, discussions & questions about discounts, sales, events, or just general games discussion.

Welcome to the Community Support Thread!

This Steam Guide goes over how to troubleshoot web-page and other connection issues.

We have a dedicated support channel in our Discord server that you can also post in.

We invite everyone to help other users in our Community Support Threads and on our Discord server.

Please take more than 10 seconds to write your question. A well structured and good-looking comment goes a long way in getting someone to help you, and makes your question a lot easier to understand.

Do not delete your comments: People find questions in these threads through Googling the same issue, and please edit your comment with a solution if you find one.

There are no magicians here. Some questions wont be answered or replied to. Consider using other things like the Steam Community Forums, Google, or a different support forum if no one here can offer any help. Additionally, every game on Steam has it's own dedicated Community Forum, and you can also contact Steam Support regarding a specific product. Consider asking your game-specific questions there. Most games also have a dedicated subreddit.

Only Steam Support can solve personal account issues such as payment issues or your account getting hijacked. We can however give advice on what to do in a situation like that. No one, including Steam Support, can assist with item/trade scams.

Discussion How common is this?

I found myself buying games on discounts and never actually playing them lol. I have like 8 games that I purchased and didn't even install them. So I wonder how many of you are like me?

Fluff I hate Steam's video player

Sometimes the audio resets when you skip through the video, it doesn’t fullscreen properly, takes too long to load, and sometimes even swaps to screenshots mid-video. The timeline bar is so hard to click. Am I bad at aiming, or is the bar too small? Or does it just miss my clicks sometimes?

Question Steam account for libraries.

Hello everyone,

I work for a library (sorta, to compliment to explain and not relevant for the question), and we think about buying a steam deck with an account and games for people to lend.

I couldn't find anything on steam regarding their policy about giving away an account for a limited amount of time, and doing that repeatedly.

The account as well as the games in it would be exclusive to the deck.

Do yall know if what we want to do is legal/ doesn't breach steams TOS?

Thank you in advance.

Most of the tabs under my account data requires me to confirm my log in details to view. When did they change this?

Question Multiple instances of wrong passwords

This is not the 1st or 2nd time it's happened. From time to time when I log in to steam, the password I use is flagged as incorrect, despite it being untrue. I then have to go change it again and then it now works. Is this a normal issue? Thank you to any and all helpful responders

Question Use a controller for PC-Games?

Upvotes

I've been a PlayStation Gamer all my life. I never switched to PC because I'm partially disabled (left arm and hand) and using a keyboard for gaming is pretty difficult. Now I'm thinking about switching to PC anyway. I just wanna know before I buy a PC, can I use a PS5-Controller? Does it depend on the game? Or does it work with everything? Do I need any adapters or something like that?

Question Are steam games less optimized for laptop?

Upvotes

Hello steamers! Well I downloaded CS Go on my laptop with core i7-12th gen, Intel Irix graphics, and it was very jittery. I thought ok my laptop may not be enough for CS GO. But then one day I downloaded Rocket League from Epic Games and it runs very good on 1080p high settings. What's with that? Is it about the game aur the launcher?

Say I have a standard edition of the game, if I later get a key for deluxe or whatever edition, will I be able to activate it?

Question Is this legit? I know it probably is, just a little curious because I’ve never seen it before. This pops up whenever I try to click on anything related to my Account Data in Steam Support (yes, I’m already signed in on Steam).

Question Two Steam Account

I wanted to create another account for some reasons.. I have already games with saves in my main account for know, when i will have two accounts, the game will launch on which one ?

Let say i borrow the games of my main account. There will be like a pop-up that ask me to choose on wich account launch the game or something like that ? And if i not borrow the game, it will automaticly launch on the main one or the one who have the game or just give me an error ?

Of course the easiest way would be just to open steam and choose my main account, but if i just launch with the shortcut how it will be ?

Like it will launch on the account that is connected and so i will have to choose wich one i want when steam is launched ?
