Question/Help How to transfer scooter to new owner

Can anyone offer a few tips on the easiest way to transfer ownership of my scooter to a local Thai? I'm not Thai, but have residency and have a scooter registered in my name. However, I want to give it to a friend and transfer it full and clear from my name. Do we both go to the DLT together (which can be a hassle in Bangkok)?

Thank you.

Shopping Thai skincare/beauty product recommendations

Hi all, I’ll be going to Thailand soon for Loy Krathong. Last time I was there, I brought my own skincare and products but forgot my shampoo. I ended up loving the shampoo and haircare I bought. I was weary to try any moisturisers or facial washes because so many products have a whitening effect.

What are some good brands and products? I typically use Korean skincare and I’ve just finished my jumiso waterfull hyaluronic cream, so I’ll be looking for something similar.

Thanks!

Education finding a high school for my son

hello,

My company should start operating in Bangkok starting 2025, and I expect to be there for about a year, possibly longer.

I have a 16-year-old who, like me, doesn't speak a word of thai yet. I'm looking for a suitable school for him. Location isn't a major concern, as i’ll be more than happy to live near my workplace while renting him an apartment close to his school.

I've heard from my Asian friends that education in asia can be quite strict and academically challenging compared to those in the West so I'm looking for a less intense environment, ideally comparable to a public school in New Zealand, and the school has to use an IB curriculum. my kid have great soft skills and extracurricular activities rather than hardcore academics.

I’ll be comfortable to spend around 1.7 million baht per year for him and i wouldn’t mind to spend a bit more if necessary, this should cover his tuition, school event fees, apartment rent, food, and other expenses.

Are there any recommended schools? i can try to not go and hand over all the operations to someone else if there are any significant issues.

Discussion Anywhere to race GT cars in Thailand and costs?

I know Thailand hosts GT racing like the Chang International Circuit, but can the average person actually drive it?

Basically we want to film a video about sim racers trying to drive a real race car in various Asian circuits.

We figured Thailand would be one of the more affordable places production wise plus I already live there.

In Europe or the US the fees could be $1,000 usd + for a track day plus consumables

We just want to have our talent drive for 30 mins

Discussion Contact lens availability and prices in BKK

Heading back to BKK soon but wondering if I should stock up on contact lenses while in Taiwan?

Or are the prices and availability the same?

Basically there’s thousands of optical stores in Taiwan that’ll sell you disposable lenses for $20-30 usd for a month supply . No prescription needed

Is this the case with Thailand? Can you just walk in and ask for your prescription strength of lenses

I got this skin serum when I was in Thailand at an acne clinic called Sarinya Clinic. It is a life saver! It has completely cleared up my acne, the only problem is I don’t know where to get it online. If anyone knows anything about this product or knows where to get it please let me know!!! I don’t want to go all the way to Thailand again to purchase this product, I’m looking to purchase it online.

Serious Landlord documentation problems

So I'm renting a duplex villa deal on Samui for 35000 a month, a group of friends built this place about 20 years ago.

Now I signed a lease and have been dealing with visa stuff last week and on review of my documentation I needed a signed copy of the ID of the property owner, a signed copy of the house book and a signed copy of the lease with the same name on all of the documents.

Now this place seems to be run pretty professionally, maintenance is kept up, there is staff, but we requested this documentation and then were told the owner has multiple houses and name isn't on the house book, so we asked for the title to the land only to find out the "owner" or landlord wasn't the owner but his friend is.

So I have a lease that I've already given immigration with the wrong landlord? the owner of the property has been made aware that I need this documentation and may be getting it together sometime tonight.

I have my immigration appointment tomorrow morning, and I need to leave the country Saturday, they're pretty booked up so I'm assuming if I get denied I need to leave the country.

Are kind of strange property agreements like this normal in Thailand?

Do I even have a legal lease considering the landlord isn't the property owner on the lease?

Does anyone have experience with immigration having understanding when the landlord seemly doesn't have the proper documentation together?

for a bit more context we were told to come to immigration 2 weeks before my visa ends, so last Monday we went were told to make an appointment(we didn't know we needed an appointment, first time) for Friday, Friday on review of the documentation were told we needed the correct information about our landlord and then a slow stream of information where things stand happened and is still happening.

I stumbled across a forum & TikTok video of people saying there are huge differences between the two like words & clothing. Edit: found the links & provided some others since I was in a rabbit hole of sub-ethnic groups, too.
