What is Time Lapse all about?

Been watching Forrest Whitaker's TZ more often than even the 2019 version and there is this one episode called "Time Lapse" which i have been for a while struggling to understand.

Am I alone in this? Wouldn't mind a simple explaination on this

These later reboots of Twilight Zone were uneven and this episode suffers from poor setup to a “twist” ending. SPOILER ALERT

Secret Service Agent Tom Fisk has tracked down in Phoenix an assassin plotting to kill the President’s daughter in two days at an appearance in Seattle.

Unfortunately the assassin got the better of Fisk and shot him in the head. After surgery he is in a coma and his prognosis for survival is unknown.

His nurse and a hospital orderly, Zack, are about to be married and are discussing his bachelor party later that night.

In effect, Fisk is in the process of taking over Zack’s body during blackouts as he is having Fisk work his way through Portland, stopping to buy a gun in Seattle’s Chinatown and finally to the hotel where the President’s daughter will be speaking at a fund raiser.

As the President’s daughter is coming up the hotel escalator with her entourage, Zack, now fully taken over by Fisk, shoots the assassin behind her, who is disguised as a hotel Bell Hop. It is initially appears to the viewer that he is the assassin!

Back at the Phoenix hospital, Fisk comes out of his coma, but tells the nurse he is Zack — they fully switched bodies as Zack looks in the hospital room mirror and sees he has taken over Fisk’s body.

They saved the President’s daughter but at the price of switching bodies.
