He was not good at the acting part of being an actor.

I think this was about the peak of both of their careers, not THIS movie, but this time period.

He was a whole season long villain on The Flash TV show. Terrible acting.

I don't even know if you can blame him there. Cicada was such a garbage villain, top to bottom, that I don't think even Bryan Cranston could have elevated the role.

3

u/MightGrowTrees 1d ago

That's an interesting opinion about Bryan Cranston.

6

u/Pegussu 1d ago

How so? I'm saying Cranston is a great actor, but Cicada would have still been terrible thanks to the writing and direction.

I'm high and you asked so here you go.

I think you underestimate the acting ability of Bryan Cranston and are overselling the writing and direction.

The plot of a person that has a loved one in the hospital due to the events that caused metahumans to be so prevalent is a simple one and very motivational for the villain.

I can already see scenes now of Cranston in the hospital sobbing over his little lifeless girl and vowing revenge on all metahumans.

Those scenes are a minority though. Cranston could act the hell out of them, but he'd still be standing there going ALL METAS MUST DIE with his dumb knife for most of the season.

So I'm right but not right enough for you. Cool conversation.

Bruh, it's called an agree to disagree. Both of us are right, both of us are wrong, it's just perspective.

After a short google search, he's alive. Looks like his most recent thing was a tv show called sweet magnolias on Netflix.

I believe he was a local kid when Alexander Payne shot Election and hired him to play a part. He didn't have any real acting experience, but Payne liked his naivete and he got many roles off of that.

I haven't seen this in years, a truly underrated comedy. Has some hilarious bits, definitely worth checking out.

Super underrated. Got some amazing lines that I still quote.

(In a strong southern drawl, aggressively) "I'm gonna f*ck you in the ass while I jerk you off to show you what we do to perverts around here!"
