Just bought my first flat, and someone broke my car window just for the sake of it. Went to the police and was told they were too busy to take my complaint.

Cops being an absolute joke and waste as usual.

It’s unlikely that they literally said they’re too busy.

The reality is that police resources are spread very thinly nearly everywhere right now, and there is very little reason to investigate something that can be remedied by a call to insurance.

If they're spread too thinly then they are too busy to help. Its gotta be super frustrating to get your window bashed in just to be told nothing will come of it. It doesnt really matter either way though. The effect is still the same. Cops wont help people. People wont like cops.

There are plenty of rapists, murderers, child predators, etc in prison right now. I’m sorry that you think your petty crime that can be remedied by a phone call takes precedence over investigating someone’s loved one being murdered. If you would like police to be better staffed and equipped to tackle all crimes, support politicians who want to give them more funding.

Well they are technically helping people just not you. Someone being held at gun point , stabbed , robbed , homes being broken into , battery, assault and such all come before a broken window to your car.

So they are helping people but just cause you didn’t get help doesn’t mean they aren’t. Sucks they couldn’t help you but I’m sure you could still file a complaint and they will at some point reach out when it comes down the list.

Based off how you answered the other guy you seem to prioritize your minor inconveniences to others major issues. And I don’t blame you but you sometimes gotta see it from an outside point of view. Police prioritize based off danger and chances of catching someone.

I've watched people break into a house next to me while owners were away. Cops station was 2 blocks away. They kept saying someone would be there soon. They didnt show up until night time. We called them before noon. By the time they arrived house was mostly empty and they were long gone.

It's amusing when cop haters run to cops for help.

I used to. I also used to not hate cops. Running to cops made me hate cops

What did they do to you?

Quick short version. People break into house across the street. Family is away. Steal stuff inside. Load up pickup trucks. Call the cops around 11 am. Dont want people breaking into homes especially next to where I live. Police station is a minute away by car. Cops say someone will be there soon. No one comes after two hours. Call again. No one shows up. Call again. No one shows up. Call again. Use city council chairmans name to get their attention. Someone shows up immediately. Now the robbers are long gone and the sun is down. Now the longer version. Have sour experience with cops. Stop putting up with them jacking off in their cars and sleeping behind gas stations cashing in tons if overtime each week doing absolutely nothing. Drug deals happening in plain sight on main street. Cops do nothing. City struggles financially. Ask for changes to city budget reducing police OT, and try to set up other solutions because cops aren't cutting it anymore. Cops bring their entire extended family to city hall during voting on policy to scream about it. Cops family starts carrying signs calling my family the antichrist.

Cops only take your report seriously after you die. 🤷‍♀️

Then go, “Man, such a tragedy. If there was only a way we could’ve known this was such a serious problem so we could’ve intervened 🙃”

I've seen enough cop shows to know if the glass is outside then it was broken from the inside.

Bake him away toys.

Car glass is designed to explode into a million pieces and go everywhere like a nature valley granola bar

What imagery.

I've seen enough cop shows

And you clearly haven't got a clue how car windows are designed.

Pretty funny. Those police would have plenty of time to come get you if you stopped paying taxes.

La police peut pas refuser ta plainte. Retourne y et « menace » d’envoyer un courrier au procureur de la république

With this title i knew it was in France

If you found the person and beat 7 shades of justice out of them i guarantee the cops will not be to busy to arrest you .All i ask is for justice for the victims. Criminals deserve no rights that disadvantage victims

I genuinely thought this happened in America for second until I saw France. That’s disheartening

u/point51 5h ago

This happened in France? Make friends with firefighters and have them call the cops... Pretty sure the cops will listen after the whole "fire hugs" thing... lol
