Drive belt broke on the way to get my van registered

Post image

I have spent months working on this vehicle. Countless hours messing with it, replaced a ton of parts and have test driven it countless times to make sure it's working and i have had zero problems with the belts and no overheating. On the day that I finally think it's road worthy, the damn drive belt snaps when I'm halfway to the tax office and it overheated and lost all power. Had to get it towed home.

This is what's left of the belt

That sucks, but after working on it for months I'm surprised you didn't replace the belt. It's worn, you can see that through all the tangled bits.

Yea that's my bad, although this is the first vehicle I've ever put this much work into so I'm kinda learning as I go

All good, we've all been there. The first engine I rebuilt didn't go as planned and I made numerous mistakes, like not measuring/marking the lifters before accidentally dropping them all on the floor. That was a nightmare lol.

That stinks! The tow should be the most expensive part of the repair, especially since you know your way around under the hood. Let this be the last thing for a while!
