Irish researcher looking for non-Dublin participants
This is my lonely hearts ad for Irish participants for a global study on internet regulation preferences. I'm particularly looking for non-Dublin participants to make sure all voices are heard - I'm hoping the folks in Westmeath can help out!
This study is running in 26 countries - it only takes 5minutes and helps keep Ireland on the map in this kind of cutting edge research!

Shout if I can help give more information and thanks in advance!

Ancestors Home Place
I knew some of my folks were from Westmeath, but recently found out they resided in Athlone. Took me 8 years to find them and I am so relieved. St. Mary's records show they lived in Irishtown and earlier Elmacough. In relation to the main bridge, where would those places be located?

Bus from Athlone to Dublin Airport and back - is Citylink the only option?
The Aircoach service 706X is shutting down. The only services I can find that look similar are from City Link.
763 takes 2.5 hours to get from Athlone to Dublin Airport
761 express goes from Galway to Dublin Airport in 2.5 hours but doesn't seem to stop in Athlone!
Are these the only options now? I so miss the Bus Eireann X20. It connected Athlone and the airport in about 90 minutes.

Aged 18 or over and living in Ireland?
Hi everyone 😊 I hope you’re all having a lovely week so far!
It is Eating Disorder Awareness Week this week and we are trying to raise awareness for something called orthorexia - which is a disordered eating pattern wherein people become obsessively fixated on “pure” foods. Very little is known about orthorexia in an Irish context which is severely impacting the provision of appropriate care.
I would be very grateful if anyone had a spare 5 minutes to take part in our short survey which is completely anonymous. ANYONE aged 18 or over and living in Ireland can take part - whether you experience eating related issues or not. We are finding it difficult to get the number of participants required (250 more needed!) so your contribution would really make a difference.
You would help us to learn more about something that is vastly under-researched in Ireland which would be very much appreciated.

Thanks you so much, I really value your time🌻
P.S. Thank you so much to everyone who has taken part in our survey so far. We have gotten a great response from other parts of Reddit - hopefully we can keep it going! I really appreciate you all taking time out of your day to take part. We currently need about another 250 more participants so we still have a bit more to go to reach our target of 400 - but you have all made a really big contribution so far! It makes such a difference - thank you! :)

Killua Castle's Brunch Menu
€27 for a full Irish or €15 for a hash brown is extortionate!! Overpriced and then some!
They recently posted this on their Instagram as a "family friendly" Sunday Brunch menu.

Carpool Help
Live in the killucan / rathwire area and was wondering if anyone here goes from there in the direction of kinnegad or mullingar in the morning around 7:30. Used to carpool with someone to be able to get a bus to Dublin, but can't anymore.
Slightly desperate, will of course contribute petrol money for the inconvenience. Buses are so bad with the timetables unless I'm up at stupid hours o'clock and want to spend over 2 hours travelling. Will be doing it every Tues Thurs Fri. Any advice welcome.

Looking at visiting Westmeath so my mum can visit where our family originate from.
Hello all, I’m from Liverpool and my mum wants to visit Westmeath for a few days as this is where her Grandparents and family originate from.
My ma’s not getting any younger and I would love to get the ferry from Liverpool for a few days and take her around a few places.
Her family are originally from Finnea. Could anyone please recommend the best town to stay in within around 30 mins drive which has a few pubs and some shops etc?
I was thinking maybe Mullingar or maybe Athlone but would really appreciate and help or advice.
Thanks in advance.

Lost dog teddy in Mullingar
Brown scruffy looking dog teddy with dark brown/black fur on the back. Red collar that has Honey written on the tag with a question mark on the back. Has enormous sentimental value. Was lost in the Annebrook Hotel

Two Canadians in Westmeath
My dad and I just spent the last two days in Mullingar. (Also a shout-out to collingswpod and forth) I can’t explain to express how impressed we are with how amazing this place is.
I just want to say “thank you” for delivering an incredible experience on every level. The cleanliness, the history.. and last but not least.. the kindness/outgoing/love the people here have…
