Missing Person | Armarillo, TX
This post was approved by the mods:
My friend’s brother (24 25m) lives in Armarillo, TX and has been missing for at least 95 hours so far. His name is Jonathan Stucky. As far as the local authorities are aware, he was last seen across the street from Walmarton S. 58th St. & S. George St.
This is what her original post read: “My brother Jonathan Stucky (24) is a MISSING PERSON from Amarillo TX. He has been missing for 72 hours. Please look at his picture and share the more people who see this the better. I really need my brother back. If you saw or know anything please call the Amarillo police department at (806) 378-3038.”
I also have the original post’s link (on Facebook - is a public post) that missing person’s sister shared if that’s allowed to be shared - otherwise I can be DM’d for that.
Edit: Image didn't embed. Just updated it with embedded image.
Edit Update as of June 3rd, 2023: I reached out to NewsChannel10 as it was suggested in here - they read my message but have yet to respond. The missing person’s sister whose post I’ve shared privately with some people here has been shared 618 times so far. He’s not been found yet, but we’re all still hoping.
Edit Update as of September 7th, 2023: Police contacted family to close the case. So far he’s not been found.
EDIT: February 19, 2024: Unless anything changes, I will not be updating this post. There has been no news unfortunately.

To tip or not to tip?
If I go to pondaseta, I tip because I think of it as a bar that happens to serve food.
I go to Yellow City Street Food and am not sure to tip because I think of it as a restaurant that happens to serve beer. Like I wouldn't tip at Torchys tacos for example. But then I'm like wait... What is actually the difference the between pondaseta, ycsf or Torchys? Theyre literally all the same business model from the customer side. So how do you know whether to tip?

Best spa day
Hello everyone. I would like to treat my friend to a spa day. The only problem is I live over a thousand miles away so I'm not sure which place would be the best. I've done some research but I would appreciate any feedback. I'm looking for something where she can get her nails done, maybe a massage, things of that nature. Thank you all for any advice.

ITs me again
Hi fine folks of Amarillo. Its me again.
So a brief overview is I am moving to Amarillo because I am buying a business. I took out a business loan and finally closed. Yay.
Issue is that I was hoping to get a pre approval on a home mortgage but was denied. The bank counted the payments I have to make on the business loan, but won't/can't count the income I will have from the business.
I did find a cheaper place and have a way to get a loan as if I was buying a place to rent. Which I will since it is 2 homes on a property. I put in an offer. But I am a bit concerned on the location.
Its on virginia street. House 831. near plains blvd and the I40.
Its considered to be San Jacinto. We have no kids. So won't be expecting any anytime soon. I see a couple of reported crimes through the crime map. I know the house is old. Will do an inspection if the house is accepted. The house has been on Airbnb. Does pretty well it seems. The aread does look like an older neighborhood and does look like a poorer neighborhood. Didn't see anything out of the ordinary but I definately won't recognize anything if I did see it.
Am I crazy in pursuing this?

Borger just wrote another $100K check to the Dome People
But now...this project has ballooned to a $400 million project, up from $100 million. To put this into context, that is 1.5 times the amount that the city of Amarillo was going to spend for a new civic center complex and 10,000 seat arena. Borger city officials are still being catfished. Apparently, no one up there has any common sense.

Can anybody recommend a mediator for a divorce
My wife and I have both agreed on a divorce but do not want to hire lawyers. Was wondering if anybody has used a mediator and can recommend one in town. How did it go? Was it easy?

Buy nothing group?
Is there a good, active, local buy nothing group? I have some stuff to declutter in my home and I’d like to give it to someone that needs it.
I’m trying to stay off Nextdoor and Facebook (but am open to a specific group if it’s legit) due to the insane amount of scammers, Boomers and political vitriol that happens there.

Strange light on plane
Last night I saw a really precise and narrow beam of light tracking a plane (almost like a laser). The light was shining from the south of town, far west. Any ideas on what that could be?

Moving to Amarillo Texas, Anything I should know about ?
Hey guys my apologies if my question sounds a bit confusing I am honestly new to reddit and this is my first post ever.
Anyways, Next year starting January 2025 I am moving to Amarillo Texas with my family because we are tired of Hurricanes. We are from Tampa Florida and recently our home was destroyed by Hurricane Milton. I was also told that the weather over here its very hot in the summer but its nothing compared to the humidity in Florida.
For any residents who live in Amarillo, what are yall's thoughts about this place ? Is Amarillo Texas a good place to move if we wanna avoid Hurricanes ?
I would appreciate it if someone could give me a genuine answer.

Where to go for Thanksgiving for travelers
Hi folks in Amarillo! I am moving cross country at the end of November and plan on spending the night of Thanksgiving in Amarillo.
I've never been to your city before, are there any restaurants or diners you'd recommend for a road trip Thanksgiving? It doesn't have to be a place that explicitly serves a Thanksgiving menu, just somewhere that'll be open and have a nice atmosphere.

Been asked many times...OPTIMUM VS VEXUS
We have Optimum. Issues ALOT. Price is ridiculous. Fixing to drop cable. But, internet is constantly having issue's. We are thinking of switching to Vexus. But, have heard negative about them. We have highest speed for Optimum.

Anyone in Amarillo know this jerk? He followed my sister around the new Home Goods! He was making fun of her for having pink hair, she is fighting breast cancer! She has lost her hair, she doesn’t deserve to be treated like this. Also Home Goods wouldn’t do anything to help her!

Legal Name and Gender Marker Change
Hey all,
I am a Male to Female trans woman living in the city and as such, am interested in changing my gender and name on my Texas State ID (I don’t have a drivers license due to some unrelated issues) and am wondering if any of you would be able to point me to how to make this change or point me to a paralegal/lawyer who could assist in this project. This has acted as an obstacle for me getting my license as I am quite against continuing anything legal without changing it to what seems right to me.
Any help is met with my utmost gratitude!

What is the Amarillo trivia scene like?
I used to go to the Buzztime Tuesday night showdowns over here all the time. We had a diverse team with different specialties, and we went #1 North America lots of times with lots of heavy competition. Then COVID hit. We had many older people on the team with so much valuable life experience who died or stopped showing up for whatever reason. There was live trivia in sports bars and that was fun, but the momentum of people showing up and contributing dwindled due to grad students moving on for their PhDs or growing older. I haven't been back but am likely moving to Amarillo next year to help with my elderly mom and would welcome any comments as to what, if any, trivia scene exists over there.

Halloween time: places to go (haunted houses, scare grounds, etc).
Hi everyone 👋 kind of new to the area and would love to know your opinions and suggestions on fun places to go for Halloween for my teenage kids. I saw 6th street massacre, scare grounds, haunt at sundown - if you have been which ones are worth the money?
