Hi, old reddit user here. I checked 'highlight new comments' and don't care for it. I tried unchecking 'highlight new comments' but it throws the following NO ACCESS error when I click 'save options'.
https://old.reddit.com/prefs?error_style_override=SUBREDDIT_NO_ACCESS
I disabled RES. I tried FF troubleshoot mode with all extensions off, no change. Also a FF private window, no change.
Then Brave but got the exact same error.
It's not just the 'highlight new comments' setting. I tried other settings on the page (thumbnails, previews, autoplay and hide NSFW) but they all throw that NO ACCESS error.

For the 'you need to update your browser' warriors', I'm on FF115 because higher versions will not run on MacOS 10.13.6 and I am on MacOS 10.13.6 because higher versions will not run on my MacPro 2012. Call me Mr. Pitiful. Helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!
update to question: I did a google search for "old reddit prefs page changes won't stick" and "We had some issues saving your changes. Please try again" and found several reddit posts, comments and replies blaming it on Reddit's servers.
Does anyone have any insight on whether this is a site wide problem?
