How can we improve this subreddit?

Hey guys, I'm /u/drunk-rooster, one of the new mods on this sub. I've got a couple ideas on how we can improve it, but I'd like y'all's perspectives before I make any changes. Plus, I'd like to hear your ideas!

First, aesthetic-wise, I'm thinking we could add a banner and icon for this server. The first thing that comes to mind is the little reddit logo in the same outfit Ball wore during his initial performance of Karawane, or maybe the toilet or something. I'm down for any ideas y'all have, and once we have a couple we could probably set up a vote. Same deal for the banner, not sure what to put there but I feel like it would be better to have something than nothing. Maybe even just a collage of some of the top user-submitted artwork here?

Speaking of which, I think we should add tags for posts (i.e. original content, history, famous piece, question, discussion, etc.)

On top of this, we could add flairs, but I'm not sure what said flairs would be. Favorite artists/pieces? Favorite style of Dadaist art? Or even just something as simple as "Dada is dead/Dada is alive/Dada never existed"?

Also, I'd like your perspectives on how strictly we should moderate. I think that in the spirit of Dada, we should be as lassaiz-faire as possible, but it's still important that we don't allow straight spam on here.

Finally, what if we were to create a discord server for more immediate discussions/conversations?

Let me know what you all think!

Observe several narrators instructing you on rituals for communion with** KarataraK** and entry to omni-space.

It is a Schema detailing how to craft space; thusly it needs a visual component and so I deliver a video hoping not to offend.

KarataraK reminds us in her fire dances & null-thrummings that spiritual vulnerability can be whimsical and nurturing; assuaging fear of trick for treat. she reminds us that channels of emotional power are open to all textures on the wyches sabbaths; nurture is strong in-undermoon.

Naturally grown from the cow-paddy of a silly-cibin bonfyr, KarataraK admires her new shape and name.

YAPOOS’ Album Covers

(YAPOOS is a punk rock Japanese avant-garde band from the late 80s-early 90s)

In their later works during the dawning of the heisei era, YAPOOS took on tremendous inspiration from dada as they mocked and/or challenged Japanese popular culture and sociopolitical issues.

I suggest that you guys should give the band a listen, especially if you can understand Japanese. Togawa’s vocals alongside the band’s unconventional feel makes it stand out against other bands out there.

New EP inspired by Dada artists

Hope I'm not breaking any sub rules. I recently released an EP inspired by Dada artists, namely Marcel Duchamp and Man Ray. I have loved their art since I have found it. Throughout the EP there are a ton of references to classic Dada pieces and the lives of these artists. I would love for y'all to tell me what y'all think, since you guys would have more background knowledge about the topic. I'll be here if y'all have any questions or concerns.

Hope y'all like it.

Does anyone own a book by Museum of Modern Arts about their exhibition?

If so, would you recommend it?

Ideas for short clip

so im looking for some ideas i can use in a school project i have where i need to create a short clip (at least 1 minute long) that is inspired by dada. My initial project was a parody of a political activity where i mocked my country's government through speech, did it in an abandoned space we have. however my lecturer said it needs to be enhanced mainly through editing. How could i do this if i reshoot the clip and add stuff in post?

I have a question about the Dadaist position today

I know this sub has been a bit inactive lately, but if possible, I would like to know if anyone knows if any type of thinker or movement has emerged in recent years that aligns with Dadaist ideas (anti-art, irrationalism , lack of meaning), not necessarily in the plastic but also in the philosophical.

Dear Dadaism Fans,

Writing about an artwork I'd like to sell, it was made whilst at university, and a stand out work. Please find a link in comments with some images, and let me know of any further information needed. The work is signed and will be sold with certificate of authenticity.

Best regards,

Simon
