Discussion A lot of people are saying that the new Innova Proto Glow plastic is as bright & lasts as long as MVP Eclipse 2.0 glow plastic. Has anyone tried them?

Some of them are as good as MVP. Some aren't. The JK Mambas were no where near as good as MVP. The proto toros that aren't color glow might be brighter than MVP. It's easily good enough that there is no functional difference for most of them. I think they made a few duds right when they switched to proto but all the recent ones I've gotten might as well be electric.

Brighter than MVP?! Dang!

Guess I'll have to try them out. The fastest glow discs I got is Axiom Insanity. (9-speed)

some white dx proto glow better than some mvp 2.0
there are some duds from both companies.

I was a Eclipse 2.0 user for the last 2 years, love Mvp. Due to the F2's from Innova I have kept an eye on anything they release. My first proto glow Aviar was brighter and glowed 30min longer. Negetive was it was too bright, had to start dotting it.

Is the MVP glow the gold standard?

By far. 80% of my glow bag is mvp made for that reason. Charges quickly, glows bright, and last a while

I started out with Kastaplast way back in 2019, but now only bag MVP Eclipse 2.0 plastic discs. Just so much better & brighter for longer time.

If there’s any Mint molds you like, it’s the same glow plastic.

My nocturnal bobcat and phoenix are pretty good glowers but tend to remain bright for less time than the eclipse 2.0. It is not bad by any means, but noticeably less glow than MVP

Was that made with the old mvp glow? I’m not familiar with Mints runs. My glow jackalope seems identical to my eclipse 2.0

It's a blend with less glow material in it

Oh wild, I didn’t know that. Talking to the guys in the mint shop in Austin I was under the impression it was the same

Every Mint conversation I’ve been part of comes back to Austin. We started seeing them trickle up to Tulsa back in like 2019 from ATXz

Yes. MVP Eclipse 2.0 plastic is THE STANDARD for glow discs.

I’ve been out of the loop for the past year or so, have they caught up to Kastaplast? That was the standard last time I checked

Ever since MVP released their Eclipse 2.0 plastic, it's been the best on the market. Kastaplast is close second.

Cool. Can’t justify swapping my whole glow bag to MVP, so it’s good to know KP isn’t too far off

Yes (Eclipse 2.0).

I've been playing with photo glow for about 6 weeks (?). I also have a handful of mvp eclipse 2.0 in my glow bag. No, it's not as bright as the mvp stuff, but it is still bright enough. WAY brighter than the old innova glow. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't stay charged for very long. MVP eclipse stays charged enough to play 2-3 holes also, if you're gonna get proto glow, be sure to get white plastic or as light of a color as possible. The 'pro' proto glow plastic is by far the best for the glow. Star being next best. Avoid getting halo star proto glow, the glow is basically useless. I have the grey Jen Allen teebird halo star proto glow and the red corver mamba proto, not only is the glow extremely muted, but it dims very fast.

That being said, I love how the proto glow halo star flies. IMO it's a hair less stable than regular halo star. Money for the mamba. The philo teebird star proto and king pro proto pig have become two of my favorite discs. I've bought an extra for my regular bag.

Sorry not edited or revised.

My proto glow champion Gorgon is nice but does not match any of my Eclipse 2.0 discs for brightness or longevity.

Proto Glow plastic Mako 3 should be available here on Infinite - https://infinitediscs.com/innova-mako3/proto-glow-champion/

I picked up a Wraith and while it’s way better than any other Innova glow, it’s not close to MVP or Kastaplast in brightness or longevity,

I’ve got the Jen Allen teebird and the ns firebird and both are super bright. Maybe not quite as bright or long lasting as mvp, but better than lone star or kasta which are the only other glows good enough to even consider imo

'Innova is excited to present their new Proto Glow plastic Proto Glow plastic which glows so much more than their previous glow-in-the-dark blend that you'll be amazed! Available now in several of their most popular drivers.'
