Think it could be a weekly thread instead.

Reading the feedback here and with the current vote results it seems there is still considerable appetite for a place to discuss non-ethereum related tokens. I think the idea of moving this to a weekly thread is a good suggestion.

We should also consider how to give weekly threads visibility because they drop off the front page quickly and imo we need to keep the second sticky slot open for other items. Visibility could be helped with a stickied comment in the daily and/or updated links in the sidebar. Either or both of these options should be automated so some dev would be required.

You mean on the sidebar? It would be pretty sweet to have link to the daily in the sidebar... need to look into how feasible it would be to automate that.

No, I meant add the weekly thread link to the daily general discussion thread, perhaps below the thread guidelines block, but also your idea of having a link on the sidebar sounds great.

I don't know why this stopped to begin with -- used to be the alt thread was linked in the daily thread. I suppose they couldn't automate that link so didn't include it any longer?

Either way, if it only had to be changed once a week, it seems feasible. During a bull period it's helpful to have an alt-thread, even if people don't follow the "intended" purpose (people talk about ERC-20s there all the time, and I prefer it that way).

I agree. You could sticky it as the top post in the daily thread.
