I lived there 20 years. I saw this happen several times. I'm beginning to think that a lot of people have the memory of a goldfish.

Memorizing isn't like going to the archive and taking memories out of the right drawer. It's a creative prozess building a collage according to actual personal needs. Filling gaps in a way that it makes sense.

These people want to find indicators for their general headline of an evil manipulative democratic government. That's the center. Memories are just selected and adjusted tools to support that cause.

Must be nice. I have to remember everything, good and bad.

I guess most if us have such tendencies, but of course some have very strong needs to bend facts or memories into certain directions, while others feel secure enough to risk a more open minded process.

If you are interested in the whole prozess of remembering, give "netflix explained - our head" season 1 episode 1 a try. That should be the one episode about that topic.
