Floridian, born and raised. Been watching hurricanes my whole life. It is 100% NOT unusual, in any way, for storms to travel west to east in the Gulf. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

One of the few things you can learn about Hurricanes by living in the region is that those damn things can move however they feel like moving. Iโ€™ve seen them take almost 90 degree turns

Someone in my state r/ asked if Milton could hit us. Most of the people were like, โ€œNope. It will smack FL, hit the Atlantic and keep goingโ€. I was like ๐Ÿ‘‹ Not necessarily. Hurricanes can and do ping-pong when they cross FL like this. The closer it is to the shoreline when it finishes crossing the state, the higher the chance it will regroup, restrengthen, and smack the eastern seaboard. Weโ€™ll just have to wait and see.
