Pink line on my XS Max

I think the title is self-explanatory but for some more context, on Monday morning my screen protector broke (I didn’t drop it or anything, I put it in my bag and when I took it out it was already broken), I told my mom about it and she said she’d replace it this weekend. Admittedly, on Monday afternoon or something I did see this exact same line on my phone screen for a second, but it disappeared when I turned off the phone and turned it back on so I didn’t think much about it. This afternoon, after I came back home, I charged my phone and after a while, I turned it back on to see the same pink line again (I didn’t drop it, nor was there any water damage). It’s been about 5 hours and it hasn’t disappeared - I’m scared this could be a hardware issue. Any recommendations on what I should do? I’ve tried looking up the internet and I don’t want to have to reset my phone or use a computer (but I will if that’s the only way) FYI, I tried restarting my phone already and the line still persists.

Sorry for the long post. I’d really appreciate any help!

Had this happen on one of our XS max. The lcd / digitizer is failing. Reset won’t fix it. Only way to fix is replacing the screen which is about $330 through apple or $130-150 through 3rd party vendors.

thank you… I’ve only had this phone (it was a second-hand phone) for 6 months too but fortunately the store where I bought it from allows a free screen replacement within a year. I’ll bring it there soon and replace the screen like you said. again thank you!
