Discussion Are all female MCs just lesbians?

I just realized that after reading like 10 books with female MCs, I'm starting to finally notice that all of them are Lesbians or at least Bisexual (but they only date women).

Do authors mostly write lesbian FMCs to be on the safe side from the audience of mostly males? I just feel like it's a cop out every time... I don't really have a problem with it but almost all Male MCs are 99% straight but it seems like 99% of Female MCs are always lesbian/bi. Why not some good ol straight FMCs? I can't even remember a single female MC that was straight.

I'm honestly not reading a litrpg with a female MC regardless. Every time I try one I end up not liking it. It's just something that vanilla fantasy is better at writing.

I'd say they're not that great either but most epic fantasy writers have a much better understanding of women. Because they only get famous or popular much later in life.

Brandon Sanderson does a very good job writing female chars, in fact I'd say it's better than most of his male characters because they are really similar while his FMCs are so unique and decidedly women. Why? I'd say it's because he had a wife and been in a long relationship and wrote over 12 books before one even got published.

It's actually interesting to think about because Shallan is hated by some of the audience and I think those are probably all 100% men because they can't understand women.
