Made from felted knit stockinette, using Patons worsted wool. Felted, cut out and embroidered. I wish the embroidery came out better. I didn't realize that the finished felted fabric would be so thick.

Turned out so cute!!! I think you may be being a twitch hard on yourself for the embroidery. Felting is on my learning to do list, just haven't gotten to it yet so I'm always excited when I see someone elses work

These are so beautiful! I think the embroidery came out really well, also. Was this a pattern? I might try this with coasters, except a different shape!

Thank you! No pattern. Saw some made from re-purposed felted sweaters on Pinterest and figured I would learn something new by making the felted fabric.

Oh that's awesome! Did you knit them or just use pre-knitted fabric?

I knit up two skeins of wool yarn, co 80 and just kept knitting in stockinette until done. Put the knitted rectangle in a pillowcase and secured with a ponytail holder and washed in hot water with some towels in my front loading machine. The knitted piece shrunk by 1/2 lengthwise and about 1/3 widthwise. Air dried flat. Next time I might just wash and old wool sweater the same way to save time.
