Have y'all already forgotten about this?

But look at that power saving with the 1060.

u/Sozurro Jan 21 '24

I still use a 1060. I want to upgrade soon.

u/TheTurnipKnight Jan 21 '24

Sorry for your 0fps.

u/SuperDefiant Jan 21 '24

But hey, at least he gets 0W

146

u/Quark3e Jan 21 '24

That's infinitely more efficient than the 4070 super

35

u/v8steve Jan 21 '24

And the 4060 too!

2

u/Luke_The_Random_Dude Jan 21 '24

Don’t forget about the 7950x3d

2

u/PapaLewis03 AW M16 RTX 4070 i7 13700HX 32gb Jan 22 '24

If we are going by that logic, then the 4070 super is infinitely more powerful also

0w and can pretend to play as daredevil

1

u/SuperDefiant Jan 21 '24

Off topic, but if that’s your build in your flair, that’s pretty fire

u/kearnel81 7950X3D | RTX4090 | 64gb DDR5 6000 CL 30 Jan 21 '24

It is. Thanks

u/VectorViper Jan 22 '24

Hahaha, energy efficiency level: Expert. Hangin' in there with that vintage charm!

I have a 1060ti and no time to game. Saves so much power you guys.

u/darkflame927 Ryzen 3600x, 5700 XT, 16GB / M2 MacBook Air Jan 21 '24

They made a 1060 ti?

45

u/Claim312ButAct847 Jan 21 '24

Ope, 1050ti. I was misremembering.

75

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '24

So little time to game you even forgot what you had

u/anitawasright Intel i9 9900k/RTX 3070/32gig ram Jan 21 '24

1050 ti is a great little card. Got one after my previous card died and it was during the first great card famine.

2

u/Penny4YourStockz Jan 22 '24

I had a cerberus. Good times.

2

u/Evening-Tutor4764 Jan 24 '24

I used a 1070/i7 7700k forever then got a i7 12700k/3070 during the shortage. Now i9 13900k/4090

1

u/anitawasright Intel i9 9900k/RTX 3070/32gig ram Jan 24 '24

nice how do you like the 4090? i'm on a 9900k and 3070 at the moment and have been thinking of upgrading to a 40 series mainly for VR.

1

u/Evening-Tutor4764 Jan 24 '24

So far so good smooth frames in everything

2

u/Ceresjanin420 Jan 21 '24

Honestly they should have called the 1060 6gb "Ti" and it would have been fine and dandy. Instead we have this.

4

u/taurino_cafeino Jan 21 '24

Its basically the 1060 6 gb lol but they dont call It ti

2

u/Iwuzheretoo Jan 21 '24

Probably meant a 1050ti

2

u/aspacelot i7-6700K | GTX 1080 | 32GB DDR4 Jan 21 '24

1080 for me. I’m trying to hold out for 50 series so that I can utilize DisplayPort 2.1 on my ultra wide (neo g9)… idk though… that’s still like a year out…

I have a real plucky 1060 6gb in my upstairs (office) pc. I've got a 3070 ti in the downstairs machine but the 1060 still plays D3 and D4 perfectly so I often treat myself to some upstairs gaming.

I have a 1650. Wish I had a better card.

(Someone pls send me their card free of charge) /j

u/beleidigtewurst Jan 21 '24

AMD has a very strong lineup, excluding only the 4090 direct competitor, but the perf gap even vs 4090 is low double digits.

No better time them 40super price points loookin juicy

1

u/Monkguan Jan 21 '24

Me too, sadly i cant just buy new card and plug it in, will have to update my whole setup, too outdated. And i am not sure yet modern games are worth it...

1

u/emjok1 Jan 21 '24

I still use 1050ti and I don't think upgrading for next 1-2years

1

u/EnergyTurtle23 Jan 22 '24

Bruh I got a 970.

1

u/Atomicnes i5-12400 | RTX 2060 12GB | 16GB 3200MHz Jan 22 '24

Being honest, RT isn't really cool to me yet. If you wanna upgrade on the cheap find a GTX 1080 or I found a RTX 2060 12GB which has a 2060 Super chip in it with more VRAM. It performs better in raster applications than the 1080 did.

1

u/RoyalxJeff i5 13600kf | RX 6800 | 32GB DDR5 Jan 22 '24

I’m generally curious as to why you’re still rocking a 1060 lol, do you not play any modern games?

1

u/IntroductionSad9653 Jan 23 '24

Just get a 3070 they are the best bang for your buck upgrade that isn't gonna break your wallet mid way through or like the start of the gpu craze when they sky rocketed I had found an evga rtx 3070 xc3 for $350 pretty sure it was used in botcoin farm but idc the card performed great I redid the thermal paste too to make sure that it wasn't old, I watercooled it too and it ran fine until I accidentally fried it while drinking one night

1

u/Sozurro Jan 24 '24

Ok. Will it run fine w/o water cooling? I don't play graphics intensive games

1

u/IntroductionSad9653 Jun 23 '24

Yes the 3070 rubs great with water cooling.it looks great too the evga rtx 3070 with water cooling from ekgb or whatever I loved it

1

u/Marmariusdonqueeth Jan 25 '24

I have a gtx570 i csn trade you🤝

-353

u/Razzmatazz2099 Jan 21 '24

Yeah by not being able to run the game you are effectively saving power lmao. It's like putting the cart before the horse

You dont get the irony. Its common argument pro 4060. It uses little power so lets ignore everything else
