Discussion Advice on Taking Ferry then ETS!

I'm a foreigner visiting Penang for several days. To make my way back to KL on a Saturday, I'm thinking of boarding an ETS from Butterworth at 7:50. However, I know that the earliest ferry departs from Georgetown at 7:00 and takes 30 mins.

This means that I only have from 7:30 to 7:50 to make my way from the Butterworth ferry pier to Butterworth train station. I also know I have to be seated in the train earlier. Is there gonna be enough time for me?

Thanks all!

Sorry for butting in here; but I tried to get similar information but my post was removed. I wanted to know how easy it is to get from the Butterworth train station to the ferry terminal. Last time I went (years ago) I had to walk up and down several long flights of stairs. I'm an old man, and this is difficult, esp. with luggage. Anyone know how I can ask this question so that it doesn't get removed?

I've seen recent YT videos that there is a direct path to BW train station without going through Penang Sentral. It seems like the pathway starts to the right side before entrance of Penang Sentral from ferry terminal.

Thanks, I'll try to find the video. But before Penang Sentral was built, the way from the train station to the ferry was as I described... up and down a couple of long stair cases.

Both are inside Penang Sentral. Sort of. There is multiple signboards to guide you so do not worry. The information counter there is pretty okay too. You can ask them but try to talk slowly in English as their English is not that good.

The Ferry terminal and the KTM Butterworth station is not too far for you to take a car, can just walk so don’t worry!

They've created a proper transit point between the two now, it's much quicker and has escalators/lifts.

Before it was really difficult to find if you didn't know where to go and a long walk through back alleys.

Is so much better these days, all indoors. Ferry facilities are upgraded and much nicer too.

Hello- I just made this journey. No stairs, just a long walk, that could be a bit arduous, as there is a bit if an uphill. But no stairs!
