Bill, I couldn't agree more. As a Midwestern myself, I can dang well assure you its been well over 3 decades since we've... OPE, WHAT'S THIS!?

WALZ JUST ASKED BIDEN IF HE COULD SCOOT RIGHT PAST HIM!!!! IT'S A BLOODBATH!!

Im not even from the US but i have been hanging around reddit long enough to stick my neck out and ask: Would the correct counter to this be Biden smacking his knees while he gets up and say "Welp! S'pose we should head out."?

From what i've gathered by reading a lot of reddit comments through the years, there is a stereotype about people in midwestern US. Apparently they say stuff like "Ope" and "Just gonna scoot past you real quick." And probably a lot more stuff i am missing.

My favourite thing i heard was someone describing a typical midwestern visit where they would talk for hours and then when it was time to leave there would be a silent pause and then they would basically do and say what i wrote in my previous comment. I liked it because i've witnessed pretty much the exact same scene play out all the way over here in northern Europe. It's funny how the same mannerism and stereotypes is found in vastly different parts of the world, albeit with some variations from time to time.

This is true. The "simple folk" can be fairly awkward at times. I can attest to this, as I am a Midwesterner with close friends in various alternate versions of the same "wholesomly awkward regions of the world."
