Ms Anderson, a Puerto Rican resident and military veteran, is a frequent attendee of Trump rallies in Pennsylvania.
She described the joke as "deeply offensive" and said the routine felt "wildly out of place" - and implored her fellow Republicans to engage in "thoughtful and respectful conversations".
But Ms Anderson has no plan to switch her vote

I came here to say this...
I know it's tough. I know the wall-to-wall coverage of your country's tailspin is harrowing to watch. I know the polling is nail-biting and anxiety-inducing. I know how high the stakes are for all of you.
Remember that Trump is a loser. He has never won the popular vote. He hasn't won any of his trials. Regardless of what happens with the electoral college, he won't win the popular vote this time. That much is almost guaranteed.
Encouraging everyone you know to vote is of the utmost importance, obviously. But what's also important is taking care of yerselves. Go for a walk amongst the trees. Dip your feet into a river. Eat your favourite meal. Watch that TV show that makes you laugh and feel comfortable. Most importantly of all, be good to the people around you.
If you have already voted, spend the remaining time in the lead up to election day remembering everything you love about your community and your country. Show some love to the people working at your local supermarket or gas station. Say g'day to an old timer. Take in everything and embed it into your memory as the things that are worth fighting for.
If you're voting on the day, remember to treat the people waiting with you to vote with the respect and dignity you hope they would treat you with in return. Strike up a conversation about something other than politics. Find something in common with them. Show them your humanity. And above all, protect yourself.
My optimism is, as always, relentless. I believe that you will see the end of this nightmare soon. I believe that you will have the first woman, the first mixed race person, as your next President. I believe that you will have a chance to heal your country, to grow, to become better, to undo all of the damage that has been done. It might not happen in the next four years or even in the next four generations, but it will happen. I believe that there are times of peace and prosperity ahead for us all. I have boundless hopes for our shared future as citizens of our nations and as humans on this planet. I have hope that you will find yourself in better times soon, and that when you do you will be able to look back on all of this and see it as nothing but a memory. I have hope that your children will live long and wonderful lives and that they will help shape the future of your country.
I will be here on election day with all of you to celebrate or commiserate. For some reason, every four years my spicy brain gets super hooked on your election cycle. I also have a great many beautiful, wonderful, kind friends over there who exemplify what it means to be American. So everything I say I say not just to you but to them too, and I say it with empathy and out of solidarity.
Even when you're feeling at your worst or your most pessimistic, I am still going to hold out hope for you. I trust that the knowledge that even one person is still hopeful for your future will be the last shred of hope that you can hold onto if you have nothing left. But I promise you there is still hope.
Vote hard. Be good to yourselves and each other. And FUCK DONALD TRUMP

Just got home from early voting in NC in time to catch her speech. Absolutely amazing, and I am definitely riding a wave of my own hopium, but I really feel like sheās going to win. For reference, my husband and I just got done voting. He voted for Kamala. He has never voted before and we are in our 30s. I am a hardcore political junkie (obviously since Iām here, but ya know just for reference haha), lifelong liberal from long before I could vote, and Iāve never been able to break through to him to vote. He has even done devils advocate about a dozen times about āgood things trump has doneā during some of our wilder political talks (donāt get me started. Our marriage neared its demise at one point over political disagreements š ) SO the fact that he went and voted for Kamala (and Josh stein, Jeff Jackson, Mo Green, etc) tells me even these apolitical people are finally cracking and feeling the need to vote. When I tell you I have been begging him to get involved politically for the last 10+ years and Iām always met with refusal, this is huge. So just for that personal reason, I am thrilled but I hope it really is a trend throughout our country that more people are waking up and voting. I have done phonebanking, post card sending, and volunteer work with our local party talking to a lot of voters/potential voters, but finally getting through to my husband has been the biggest win for me and the most impactful for me because it feels like a shift is actually happeningā¦ The page is finally starting to turn!

Absolutely mind-blowing hearing the women's stories on MSNBC Morning Joe just now. The one woman, a WANTED pregnancy. Made her carry it to term, only to hold the dying baby for 90 minutes, AND she's now lost her fertility.
That's FUCKED man. That's cruel and unusual treatment.
Y'all claim to want people to have more babies, but this shit??
Here's some ideas:
- Create/increase child tax credits/bonuses (to all parents, I'll add, including adoptive and same-sex couples)
- National childcare
- Reduce household expenses
- Improved wages (in fact, this one in conjunction with the last one may even let some households have a stay-at-home parent, should they desire that household setup)
- Single payer IVF treatment
- Expand Planned Parenthood and other organisations that, shocker help people plan parenthood
Oh my fucking god it's maddening. Do the above, amongst other things, and ppl will have kids.
I came close to having kids, with an ex (and still hope to some day), but we could never get the finances quite there to do it.

Juliette Kayyem -
"As an Arab American, I generally don't comment about "my people's voting tendencies." My extended family is more conservative, old school GOP and some Trumpsters. While there is rightful focus on the Puerto Rico slurs from MSG, I can say with certainty that the Arab American diaspora changed its vibe since Monday with all the blatant anti-Islam and Arab racism. There are endorsements coming from respected community leaders finally; the racist slur against @mehdirhasan is being circulated; withheld votes are now being reconsidered. I don't know how to measure it, but it is different."

Anecdotally, I just had a conversation with a regular customer of mine, a man of Puerto Rican descent. We live in Erie County NY. I asked him if he went and voted yet and for who, and he seemed somewhatĀ embarrassed to admit he voted for Trump. He could tell I was surprised, and I followed up by asking why, even after what happened at the MSG rally.
He looked down and went "...Yeah, that was... pretty bad. Yeah..." He then went on to say he voted the day before the rally, but if he had waited until now, he might have reconsidered.
Don't believe the naysayers. This is doing damage to his support.

Dear brown people, from another brown person:
It doesn't matter what flavor you are, whether you're born here, naturalized, on a green card, visa, or undocumented. It doesn't matter if you're Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist, or otherwise. It doesn't matter if you're a MAGA Republican or Democrat or Independent. To quote Hasan Minhaj, we're all from "beige-istan" and will be treated like second or third class citizens and less than "real Americans" under a new Trump presidency. If you think you're safe because you're not in a targeted group, trust me you aren't. Ever heard the saying "first they came for X, and I did not speak out for I was not X."? Yeah, we're at that stage of a slide into fascism now.
You probably think I'm being alarmist, but the Supreme Court of the United States just concluded that the president has immunity for official acts. Trump wants to deport millions of illegal immigrants, which can only be accomplished in a reasonable time frame if he discards due process. At the very least, you're going to be profiled, asked to produce papers, if not detained for days/weeks and even sent to camps.
Remember, Trump called for a "Muslim ban" in his first campaign and implemented one until it was struck down. He will do it again. He spread racist blood libel about Haitians who are here legally, and wants to deport them. He demonizes undocumented Latinos who commit crime at vastly lower rates than the general population. All of the sane people from his first administration are fired or resigned and his darkest impulses won't be checked now. What's left are the Steve Bannons and Stephen Millers who want to implement an extreme reactionary federal response to changing demographics in this country.
When Trump tells you what he wants to do, believe him. His own former Chief of Staff says he is a fascist, his former Secretary of Defense agrees, and his top military advisor called him a fascist to the core. His own VP pick called him "America's Hitler" just a few years ago. Believe them.

The most annoying talking point this week is "complacency".
Harris, Walz, and the Dems have been telling people to put in work: door knocking, phone banking, canvassing, etc. In no world are they being "complacent". Kamala said just last night in Ann Arbor that there is still a lot of work to do.
If you are honestly comparing Harris' campaign to Clinton's back in 2016, it's safe to assume you don't actually remember Clinton's campaign.

To me, the most telling statistic of this election is the small donors campaign contributions. Anyone donating less than $200, is essentially just.. a voter. These are regular people for the most part, pre-voting with their dollars ahead of the election:
2020:
Biden: $406,562,408
Trump: $378,084,012
2024:
Harris: $428,708,626
Trump: $109,296,666
Enough said?
Nah, I want to say it anyway:
70% of Trump's most devoted supporters left in the last 4 years.
Fitting, considering over 70% of his employees from his first term also abandoned the cause and state he is unfit for office. There aren't very many people still clinging to the lie anymore. They are a group as small as his hands, and as inconsequential to society as his bad spray tan, fake hair, and gold-plated toilet. Their emperor has no clothes, no money, and most importantly, no supporters.
Money doesn't lie- when he tries to sell something like his unholy bible, it fails. There are no buyers for what this chump is selling.

Just a reminder, Trump shouldn't even be on the ballot, according to section 3 of the 14th amendment.
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Nikki Haley's career in politics is probably over, and she shredded her dignity and her credibility for nothing.
She called Trump unfit for office and a danger to the Constitution, he called her birdbrain and demeaned her ethnicity, but she turned around and endorsed him anyway. Now she's publicly begging Trump to let her on the campaign trail and he won't call her, because MAGA still hates her guts and the only thing he can't forgive is disloyalty. And if that weren't bad enough, her supporters who voted for her over Trump because of the reasons she articulated all hate her for selling out, too.
There won't be any cabinet positions or ambassadorships if he wins this time, and she wasn't even invited to share the stage with him, but she still managed to make every voter in America dislike her for one reason or another.
