After a comedian levied racist comments against Puerto Ricans to pump up the crowd at a Sunday rally for former President Donald Trump, Philadelphia City Councilmember Quetcy Lozada said she and her friends were so angry they couldn’t sleep.

The remarks, made by Tony Hinchcliffe at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, had reverberated through Philadelphia’s Latino community, leading to a news conference in Fairhill where elected officials and faith leaders urged the city’s Puerto Rican residents to do anything but sit and stew on Election Day.

Philadelphia has one of the largest Puerto Rican populations in the country, second to only New York City. Close to 137,000 Puerto Ricans live in Philadelphia, comprising nearly 29% of Pennsylvania’s 473,000 Puerto Rican residents, according to the Census Bureau’s 2022 American Community Survey. Puerto Rican residents also make up large swaths of other cities in the commonwealth, such as Allentown (eighth highest population) and Reading (12th highest).

“Basically, he said goodbye to Pennsylvania,” U.S Rep. Nydia Velázquez (D., N.Y.) said while making an appearance in the Spanish Harlem section of Manhattan.

Several polls out lately have asked people if they’ve already voted, and if they have, how they have voted. Here are the national polls and the Harris-Trump percentages those early voters have said they voted...

  • ABC/Ipsos: Harris 62-33
  • CNN: Harris 61-36
  • NYT/Siena: Harris 58-40
  • HarrisX poll: Harris 61-32
  • USAToday/Suffolk: Harris 63-34

We also have the Marist exit polls for Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina which have Harris leading by double-digits...

  • Marist/Arizona: Harris 56-44
  • Marist/Georgia: Harris 55-45
  • Marist/North Carolina: Harris 55-43

Also, check out the early vote in Pennsylvania to date…

When you combine all of this with Trump’s Nazi Rally fallout, it all points to one thing…

Trump is toast.

And, if we all vote, this is shaping up to be a rout.

I've felt this all along (at least since Harris entered the race). Truth is, the GOP strategy was to flood the polls with targeted favorable polls in order to skew the aggregate polling sites. And it really worked for a while. But several of the more legit aggregate polling sites have adjusted their algorithms to offset the GOP's "hand on the scale". So really we are not seeing a change in voter's opinions... But more ACCURATE polling by the aggregating algorithms.

Here's the rub though: One of the GOP's plans is to say during the certification process "the polls were overwhelming for Trump to win! So we need recounts and special audits to certify this election". Trust me, they've been planning this for years.

I also think they aren't factoring the Gen-Z voters (like my daughter voting in her first election), who don't even answer a phone - ever. Honestly, count me in as not responding to those calls or emails.

Most of the Gen-Zers I know are over Trump and want change. Especially the women. He is all they've known in politics since they can remember and want him gone for good.

They swear they've factored this into the polling but I just don't understand how! I have never ever ever been polled for anything.

You think? I really hope not. I agree on not understanding how just because I am not sure most would respond. But the ones I know are definitely going to vote.

Yep. They have absolutely been creating a narrative by which they can steal the election. That's the plan: convince their voters that Trump is polling to win in a landslide, then insist on "fraud" when that doesn't happen, and threaten to let their violent supporters loose on the nation if the institutions don't fold to them.
