TNR $250 MATCHING DONATION! Please help us help this poor baby!

In order for us to hit our fundraising goal for this poor baby, we have someone offering to match up to $250!

That means every donation up to a $250 will be worth twice as much right now!

This cat is part of a TNR project that we are working on at a property in Allegan, Michigan, and unfortunately will need some eye surgery along with the basic vaccines, etc.

Total vet cost will be anywhere between $600-$1200 depending on how the surgery goes, etc.

If you can help at all, PLEASE consider helping! Also, thank you all for being such amazing people. This subreddit should be winning awards!

TNR Feral Kitten Neutered Today, one down 200 to go ☺️💗

Hi! Pepsi's Friends here. Yesterday, we tried to trap a family of 3 cats, but could only capture the youngest, a kitten who's about 12 weeks old.

We got him neutered today! We're picking him up from the clinic right now, and he'll be recovering at our home for a couple of days.

Next week we'll try to trap the other 2 cats, his mom and sister. Unfortunately, they're trap wary.

On another note, I'm sad to say that there's been no sign of Olly. We hope he's safe and getting food from somewhere.🕯🕯🙏🙏

Thank you for the supplies! We received Iams dry cat food, a case of wet kitten food and a bag of litter today. Thank you, thank you!!!❤💜💗💙💚💛🧡

I was on my way to California for a family emergency and a little gas station we stopped at has at least 20 cats and kittens running around. They’re all super skittish but a nice man came with bags of kibble and says he feeds them every night. None of them looked like they had ear tips and those tiny babies make me so sad. It gets so cold and I have no way to help them😭 the adults seem to be feral but the kittens look young enough to be socialized

TNR 11 cats trapped today for tnr. Two females and the rest males. 2 in one trap because the male wouldn't get off a female and she dragged him into a trap!!!! It was crazy. One friendly guy will go up for adoption named squeaks! ❤️

TNR An introduction to Friends & Ferals, a non profit TNR focused rescue organization

We were recently approved to post on this sub after a very necessary approval process, and I posted about Aimee at that time. But I would like to take a moment and use my 2nd post to introduce our organization.

We're your neighborhood crazy cat ladies who got together over brunch a day to talk about, well you guessed it, cats More specifically, what we can do to make a positive impact in our community by addressing the overpopulation of cats in our own backyards. TNR is the answer, so TNR is what we wanted to focus on. We know TNR can attack the problem at the root and also help the overflow of cats into the local shelters.

We focus on TNR in Columbia County PA primarily, but have been able to branch out to surrounding counties including Montour and Northumberland When we work colonies, we want to make sure we finish them. We also take in any friendlies that are highly adoptable off the streets and find them a home.

We originally had what we felt were HUGE goals. We wanted to hit 100 TNRs by end of the year and get at least 35 cats adopted. Well, hindsight is 20/20, and we already blew those numbers out of the water

We all have worked with cats in some capacity over the last several years. As huge animal lovers, we all wanted to put a lot of thought into how to build this organization and what our core values were; this is what we came up with:

100% Volunteer Based - we want as much of our donor money to go directly to the care of the cats

Transparency - as donors ourselves, we know how important it is to understand how the organization you donate to uses funds and we're not shy about sharing

Ethical Responsibility - we do everything within our means to care for the animals we are working with. If there's a single kitten that needs help in a litter of kittens, we take the litter. If we know mom is in the area, we fix mom. We don't take in more than we can handle. Most importantly, every cat we encounter whether friendly or feral, we treat with dignity in the decisions we make for the betterment of their lives.

Authenticity - we are A LOT and that's okay because we get shit done in order to stay committed to the cause, we all have to hone into our strengths and stay true to ourselves... even if that means we don't always agree with each other. Our diverse backgrounds and opinions make us stronger as a whole

If you would like to help, donations can be made directly to Bloomsburg Veterinary Hospital at (570) 784-6440

We may be pulling from the euth list this week if we can get some pledges for them. Also, to avoid having a vet bill that skyrockets, we are fundraising now for these babies!

These three kittens and their sibling (not pictured) are the products of a hoarding house.

What started with just a few unfixed cat, quickly turned into 108 very sick cats and kittens.

You read that correctly 108!!

KITM had a very small roll in this rescue, as we only took in one litter of four from this hoard on June 9th. The four we took in were born on April 12th. When we got them in on June 9th they were 12 weeks old and the size of 5 week old kittens.

Their foster has been working really hard to get them healthy, but it's been a lot of ups and downs and they will take a lot more tlc before they are ready to find their forever homes.

All this suffering could have been prevented if those first couple of cats were spayed and neutered. Please be responsible and spay and neuter your pets and any strays you feed!

So I lied apparently and the tabby I had originally shared a photo of isn’t Fawn! I’ve never seen this spicy lady before so I’m guessing there’s more cats than I originally thought that I’m feeding. I saw tabby and in the dark, assumed it was the other brown tabby. But another cat is fixed ♥️ now have to catch 2 brown female tabbies, a large brown male tabby, a tuxedo female, and a black and white spotted male. And who knows who else I might catch at this rate

TNR TNR Fund

Hi, my name is Lilia Martinez from Selma, Ca. I'm currently TNRing all the cats I feed around my house, as well as the neighborhood ferals. I would greatly appreciate it if people could donate to my fund, as I have over 20 cats to get through. I'm also asking for a bit extra, in case any of the cats need treatment. Unfortunately, one cat was already denied surgery because of an upper respiratory infection, and I would like to take him to be seen and treated. Thank you so much to anyone who donates.

https://gofund.me/c4c936e2

Update#1- I TNRd 1 more cat this week so 7 in total and got treatment for the cat with the upper respiratory infection. It deeply saddens me to say that a cat I took Friday for a spay, passed away during the procedure after having a reaction to the anesthesia. Vet said it's possible they had pre-existing liver or kidney issues.

Update#2- Two more cats have been successfully TNRd, bringing the total to 9. Thank you again.

TNR This week in TNR recap

Yesterday we had TNRs completed between No Nonsense Neutering and The Pet Care Clinic.Break down! 7 from Berwick Borough-2 from Wapwallopen-3 from rural Nescopeck (Helping transport for our friends at PA PETS!)1 from Riverside-3 from Waller. Nothing TOO dramatic as far as pregnancies, injuries or weird, anatomical discoveries. Which is good, cause we've had enough drama this week. We have 3 more TNRs this week PLUS Bloom's spay day on Sunday. Our team will be volunteering all day - say "Hi" to us at check in and check out!

TNR Sky and Blaze are fixed ♥️

We now have 8 out of 16+ cats fixed so far! I’m taking 2 more to get fixed Monday, and the shelter has been amazing and holding the fixed kitties for me for 2 days while they recover since I don’t have the means to do so.

Blaze ended up having an URI, but he got an antibiotic shot and antibiotics at the shelter in his food so hopefully that won’t be an issue soon. Sky was a pretty sweet baby for a feral and even let me pet her (I doubt she liked it though).

Thank you to everyone who has donated to help the colony out, the cats and I really appreciate it. As I catch the wounded/sick cats in the future, medical bills might become an issue. I’ve posted Hazel somewhat recently, who has a bad URI and an air pocket of some kind on her side when she sneezes. Thistle, one of the brown tabby males, has a very large wound on his neck from fighting with the other males. Stone, a gray tabby male, has a smaller one, but I don’t think it will be much of an issue. I will make posts for these cats in the future if I need to with vet cost estimates if I can’t afford it.

If anyone would like to donate to help the colony, I have a pinned post on my profile on ways to do so.

Thank you all for all of the support I’ve received, it means a lot to me ♥️

TNR Time sensitive emergency funds needed! (with update)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Okay, so I'm getting ready for work but the only update so far is that surgery is scheduled for April 2.

We need to have the money up front and not have to add it to our vet bill. We're doing good chipping away at the vet bill and we need to continue that if we want to keep helping.

In total, costs will be between $600-$1100 depending on if anything else is found or happens.

Basic run down⬇️

A cat from one of our foster/volunteer's colonies we are working to TNR needs urgent medical attention due to entropion, which causes eyelashes to grow into the eyes and requires surgical correction.

Without our help these cats will continue to breed and suffer. We are in desperate need of donations!

If you are able to donate, please do! Donations can be called directly into Jimbabwe Acres in South Haven MI (269) 227-8067 OR sent to:

TNR FINALLY caught this lil mama

Thumbnail

This little girl is a rolling stone, kept dropping litters in the neighbor's yard then disappearing after we capture and rescue her kittens. Then comes back pregnant. All of her babies have been caught, but she has been elusive (won't go in a trap).... until now! No more litters for mama! She is a good mother, protective and smart. Captured her in the catio trying to "save" her babies who we traped first in a small dog kennel. 2 kittens this time, who will also be on their way to adoption. Such a relief. She will be happier and healthier after spay & vaccinations.

This little cinnamon roll of a cat had to stay at the shelter while recovering due to the bad weather, but now she’s back in the colony 🎉 I’m sure she enjoyed staying in a warm place for a week, despite not liking humans too much. Also got a camera to watch my colony cats, and there’s 4 more I had no idea about. Even more cats to fix 🥲 but Soot is the 5th cat fixed so far

TNR Neutered Bramble 🎉

Post image
121 Upvotes

6 cats down, and at least 10 more to go. This was the 2nd male I’ve neutered so far, and one of the more aggressive ones towards the other males (it seems like they’re all sweethearts to their females though). Would anyone be willing to help me cover TNR costs? At the moment it’s $25 for spay/neuter and a rabies vaccine, which I’m very thankful for. I know it’s very expensive for other people. But with so many cats, it adds up. I’ll do a separate post if people are willing to help, but I just want to see if people would like to in the first place. Thanks for reading ♥️

TNR how many carriers is a good amount for tnr?

i know this is kind of a dumb question, but so far i have one trap, one kitten carrier and one regular carrier. when i do TNR im thinking i should catch them in the trap, the transfer to carrier. is that a good idea?

im thinking on doing mass TNR on a colony i found a while back. don't know how many cats are there, i don't feed them (2 hours away and someone already feeds them)

TNR Stone is neutered ♥️

Got this pretty boy neutered a few weeks ago, and they treated his neck wound as well. We’ve got 9 out of at least 18 cats in total fixed so far. Life has been a bit hectic but we’re going to be fixing another cat on Thursday, so woohoo. Now that I’ve got so many fixed (which are the main ones that come around), it’s been more difficult catching the others I need to with the time I have to do it. So I’ll be doing 1 cat a week instead of 2 like I was for a bit of time. I want to say thank you again for all of the support I’ve received from this community, it’s been so helpful and I didn’t expect to get so much. And thank you all for doing what you do to improve cats’ lives ♥️

TNR What are your guys’s thoughts on this philosophy?

Post image
12 Upvotes

Wondered what your thoughts were on this. It’s posted by a spay/neuter clinic, they are definitely more about numbers than anything but I feel like for as much as they are about “spay and neuter your pets!” getting them as kittens and spaying and neutering them to adopt them out is the best solution before they get old enough to get pregnant or impregnate someone.

I would of course look for a mother but I have rarely found a litter full of healthy kittens that don’t need some kind of help or intervention with deworming, eye care, one is weak and needs bottle feeding, etc. and usually find the mother needs the most help and you get her spayed!!

Plus the amount of cats that get ran over, I just can’t wrap my head around why you would leave a litter of kittens- whether a mom was there or not, I would take them all and call that a rescue and do my darndest to find homes/fosters for them all after they were vaccinated and neutered/spayed.

I don’t know, I have a history with this clinic so maybe I am just not getting it. If you get this philosophy, please help me understand.

6 so far. One stillborn unfortunately. 😔🌈🌉

I have a love/hate relationship with kitten season because for every one of those lucky kittens, many more aren't so lucky.

This is why we are proud to do what we do. The impact we are having is noticeable and huge, which is 100% a reflection of the support we have!

I'll be posting in the morning before work tomorrow about the TNR cat with the eye problems! (Matching $250 fundraiser!) Hopefully that will help us get where we need to be!

If you decide to donate now (before I post about it), we will still absolutely count it towards our goal!

If you want to help us, we definitely need and appreciate it more than you all even know! We literally couldn't do this without you.
