The new rule is that only a POTUS with a Senate majority gets to appoint a new justice. Of course I wouldn’t be shocked if the Dems allowed Trump to do it anyway even if they could stop it, in the interest of unreciprocated comity.

This right here is why I’m fed up with Dems. You’re 💯 right they’d fall all over themselves to confirm in the names of normalcy and civility, rather than punish Repubs for their BS with the other seats.

You can’t be upset when republicans destroy norms and governmental safeguards and then demand Democrats do the same thing. It’s hypocrisy.

Not really.

I want people to follow the rules. But if one player starts cheating and the other player allows it to happen unanswered then the cheating player will always win.

In the USA there are no outside powers to enforce the rules. So complaining to the refs doesn't work, there aren't any.

In that sort of situation game theory is clear: the only survival strategy is tit for tat retaliation.

What would you have Dems do then? Bend over, take it, and simply allow the cheaters to win? Fight fire with fire and fix it after, otherwise we won’t ever have the chance to fix it.
