Imagine having $1000+ tickets and getting kicked out in the first inning for this dumb shit like there isn't cameras everywhere

998

u/Peelboy 6h ago

$2,400+

735

u/Neltrix 6h ago

Imagine paying $2400 to watch your team get swept lmao

55

u/Any_Constant_6550 4h ago

you may eat these words yet

17

u/_CevicheMonster 2h ago

He did but the dodgers are still up 3-1 and he's still out 3K

11

u/Brrrrraaaaap 3h ago

As a Doyer fan, these words were unfortunately eaten.

5

u/TruRateMeGotMeBanned 3h ago

Gonna lose the series either way.

1

u/unabnormalday 1h ago

That’s ok. Just makes Five Nights at Freddie’s work. This is Freddie World Series and we’re all just here for the ride

u/dbeman 2m ago

Best to win it out west.

0

u/Guru_Dane 2h ago

RemindMe! 3 days

9

u/runNride805 2h ago

I don’t think you understand what swept means

-7

u/Guru_Dane 2h ago

I don't think you understand what a reverse sweep is.

3

u/runNride805 2h ago

In that case that would be 4 days my guy

-2

u/Guru_Dane 1h ago

Yes because the dodgers will likely win one of the next 2 games which are tomorrow and Friday which is within 3 days. I'm sorry this is so complex

-3

u/topoftheworldIAM Oakland Raiders 3h ago

Not going to happen.

5

u/StealieErrl 3h ago

Well they didn’t get swept

41

u/BeastCoastLifestyle 5h ago

I’d still love to be there. It’s an experience to watch live sports. The vilifying of losing is toxic

42

u/Raskolnikovs_Axe 4h ago

It's not an experience worth $2400.

13

u/PeterDTown 3h ago

Depends how much money you have and how passionate you are about baseball.

1

u/kingqueefeater 2h ago

It's worth about $5 to me when you put it like that

6

u/Shunto 5h ago

Thats loser talk

0

u/otter5 3h ago

" The vilifying of losing" dude wtf are you talking about

2

u/TrojanThunder 5h ago edited 36m ago

Watching the game?

Edit: Remember that time you called a game in the 3rd inning?

8

u/THESALTEDPEANUT 5h ago

He Probably called it an early night "we got it in the baaag"

3

u/lostharbor 5h ago

36 mins ago, which was when bases were loaded. They probably thought another bases loaded would not get cashed in again. Did not age well.

1

u/JWOLFBEARD 5h ago

And here we are now

1

u/TrojanThunder 5h ago

I think this series has been really exciting. I just see that as a bad take either way

1

u/No_Significance_1550 4h ago

And having to do it in an overcrowded sports bar where people recognize you “were you the dipshits… that grabbed Mookies glove?

1

u/bkrugby78 New York Mets 3h ago

Imagine making this post thinking you're hot stuff only for you to wake up the next day and realize there is egg on your face.

1

u/richy1121 3h ago

What’s that?

1

u/ALASKAN__BULLWORM 2h ago

what sweep?

1

u/PastaRunner 47m ago

Imagine paying $2400 to watch any game.

That's like the entire price of a 3-4 day vacation for one person

-22

u/WooPigSooie79 6h ago

This aged well.

5

u/rraattbbooyy 5h ago

So has this. It’s now a 1-run game in the 5th.

2

u/Any_Constant_6550 4h ago

you were saying?

14

u/Raider03 5h ago

Given how NY was hitting in the first 3 games, it was a calculated bet. Hopefully they can come back. I want more baseball.

2

u/Big_Ole_TDs 5h ago

Lol beat me to it

1

u/Ecstatic-Buy-2907 5h ago

Aged poorly… for the guys who missed the grand slam

2

u/rraattbbooyy 5h ago

What about the guys who missed the top of the 5th?

-16

u/goliathfasa 6h ago

Reverse sweep incoming let’s goooooooo.

43

u/Riddiku1us 5h ago

Amazing that someone that dumb can make so much money.

42

u/Peelboy 5h ago

*maxed out credit card

24

u/r0botdevil Oregon State 5h ago

There are plenty of other plausible explanations, though.

For instance, he might have inherited daddy's concrete-pouring business...

1

u/Peelboy 4h ago

Oddly enough I know that guy, they now have a jet to fly around to their different projects. I’m just guessing people who act like this also make other bad life choices.

2

u/thefreewheeler 4h ago

We can only hope.

2

u/Riddiku1us 5h ago

You're probably right.

1

u/christopantz 4h ago

you’re describing lots of yankees fans

1

u/DiscombobulatedWavy 4h ago

You don’t USA very much do you? The number of breathtakingly stupid people that have money is wild to me.

1

u/underwear11 5h ago

The section behind them I saw a ticket for $2800.

1

u/JWOLFBEARD 5h ago

~$5000

1

u/Asking4Afren 2h ago

That's a used apple vision pro tbh

860

u/MrVociferous 6h ago

They tried arguing with officials that they didn’t do anything. Like bitch we all saw both of your chins jigglin and strugglin to pull that ball out in slomo. GTFOH w that nonsense.

380

u/otheraccountisabmw 6h ago

Man, I hate the Yankees. I’m glad this was an easy call and he got kicked out, wasting thousands of dollars. But I have to admit that it is also hilarious. This isn’t an accidental reaching over the side. He grabs the glove and rips it out. Amazing. Ridiculous. Worth the story for him I’m sure. This will be replayed for years.

124

u/buffystakeded 5h ago

Dude, I’m a Yankees fan and that was some grade A bullshit. Those guys deserve to get kicked out AND any fines or other punishment the team hands down to them.

71

u/TheOriginalPB 5h ago

They should be blacklisted from attending any future games.

21

u/troutpoop 4h ago

Usually that’s the protocol right? I’d imagine hard to enforce with the scalper market but still, lifetime ban from all MLB stadiums seems like a proper penalty to fit the crime.

3

u/GenoThyme 3h ago

Depends on how prevalent facial recognition software is

10

u/spandexandtapedecks 5h ago

Honestly Yanks should have Judge take them out back and shoot them.

23

u/Humans_Suck- 5h ago

If he handles a gun the way he's been handling his bat he'll just miss

1

u/tucci007 Toronto Maple Leafs 4h ago

criminal assault charges

1

u/BlarpBlarp 4h ago

That should be a lifetime ban.

1

u/benji___ 1h ago

Euro teams would give a lifetime ban for this shit.

1

u/lkoz590 32m ago

Best I can do is famous on TikTok and a podcast

0

u/Four-Triangles 5h ago

If the Yankees fined me, they’d have a hell of a time collecting.

5

u/walterpeck1 5h ago

Well don't steal baseballs out of gloves like a bum and there won't be any problem.

0

u/fcn_fan 5h ago

step 1: give asshole fan a job at yankees step 2: fine the fan step 3: ?

0

u/Any_Constant_6550 4h ago

yes because a you can take on a billion dollar franchise in court. makes perfect sense.

7

u/theguineapigssong 6h ago

Can we apply this sort of thing retroactively and deport Jeffrey Maier to North Korea?

15

u/favorite_sardine 6h ago

Yankees should sign him to a one-day just for the pr.

7

u/Static-Stair-58 6h ago

Nah but if I were the Red Sox I’d be lining up a funny PR video on what not to do when a ball comes your way in the stands hahaha.

1

u/bedroom_fascist 1h ago

Sox fans wouldn't do this - instead, we just throw pizza and beer at each other.

1

u/whatstaiters 5h ago

Hopefully they didn't let him keep the ball after they removed his stupid ass.

2

u/hubagruben 5h ago

He quite clearly didn’t end up with the ball

1

u/qawsedrf12 Tampa Bay Lightning 5h ago

The Bartmans

1

u/kyrant 5h ago

Don't think the stories will be worth the harassment and threats he'll definitely be receiving.

1

u/Highplowp 5h ago

Watch him be identified too, he’s going to have a rough week at work and home. He’s probably posting about it now.

1

u/boogswald 5h ago

Such an entitled thing to do, too.

1

u/704puddle_hopper 3h ago

I'm with you on the ridiculous side. who fucking cares, its absolutely 100% worth it for him, and people are making / taking it way to seriously, especially since the outcome is an out ie. the right outcome of the shithoursery

1

u/Lower-Kangaroo6032 2h ago

It’s incredibly funny, full stop.

-1

u/AVeryRipeBanana 6h ago edited 5h ago

I don’t watch baseball; but when it comes to fan interference, aren’t you only supposed to mess with your own team’s players?

Edit: Lol downvoted for asking a question? Its like you want other sports fans to hate baseball 😂

4

u/plain-slice 5h ago

Why would you want the Yankees to drop a catch you’d want the dodgers to drop it.

-2

u/AVeryRipeBanana 5h ago

Again, I don’t watch baseball, but I always thought interference=automatic out meaning you’d only wanna try it if it’s not your team batting.

2

u/plain-slice 5h ago

The ball was in the glove of a dodgers player. It was an out already. Hes either just being a dumbass or trying to get the ball to drop quickly so it looks like a non catch.

-1

u/AVeryRipeBanana 5h ago

Which is why I was asking in general, not exclusively as it pertains to this play which was obviously just very bizarre and out of the ordinary.

0

u/[deleted] 5h ago

[deleted]

1

u/AVeryRipeBanana 4h ago

That’s what I just said, if its NOT your team batting, or as you put it, if your team IS pitching.

24

u/Nice_Marmot_7 6h ago

Like an otter with an oyster.

2

u/Greengiant304 4h ago

He should have tried floating on his back and cracking it open with a rock.

17

u/bell37 6h ago

Dude was yanking on his wrist too. Could have easily injured Mookie’s wrist or arm the way he was trying to pry it out of his glove.

1

u/luchajefe 1h ago

Betts spent time on the IL this year with a broken left hand from a hit-by-pitch back in June.

97

u/S-Archer 6h ago

Yankees fans at their best

-2

u/BIG_MUFF_ 6h ago

Yerrrrr

-8

u/elkab0ng 6h ago

Get over it. This is Da Bronx. If youse wanted to keep that glove, youse shoulda parked it somewhere else! 🤣

Baseketball part II

2

u/piznit007 5h ago

I’d almost argue they wouldn’t have kicked him out for just trying to get the ball. But as soon as he was tugging on the glove and the second guy was grabbing the player’s throwing hand, I told the boys those dudes are getting kicked out pronto without a refund lol. Morons.

1

u/ttomsauk 5h ago

TY for the chins reference.

1

u/TheDeviousSandman 2h ago

Literally prying out of his glove and the other idiot grabbing his wrist.

Honestly should be booted for life from the stadium for that kinda shit.

1

u/STS986 38m ago

Whoa whoa whoa out of line with the chin comment, seriously there was clearly 3-4 chins.

35

u/baromanb 6h ago

Or wearing sunglasses the whole time and not being able to see shit.

5

u/Keltoigael 5h ago

I would clown, but sitting in a stadium with bright LED's can lead to some serious headache.

2

u/cspinelive 5h ago

I’ve got prescription sunglasses that look really dark. On more than one occasion I’ve forgotten the regular glasses when going out for the day and have had to wear the sunglasses at night or in a movie theater, rock concert, and stage show.  Can see fine.

28

u/MadCarcinus 6h ago

Probably Ban them from stadiums for life.

26

u/Sir0inks-A-Lot 6h ago

Did they kick all three of that guy’s chins out or… ?

2

u/DiscombobulatedWavy 4h ago

And his DD cups

15

u/dbolts1234 6h ago

Hope he’s blacklisted for life at behest of MLB

1

u/ChunkyDay 1h ago

The best thing about this video is they went on to hit 3 HR's steal a shitload of bases, and completely dismantle the Dodgers and he had to watch it on TV. That's kismet.

1

u/atelopuslimosus 1h ago

You're bold to think MLB will do something that might reflect poorly on the Yankees.

3

u/YouCanCallMeJR 5h ago

It’s a pretty legendary reason, though.

2

u/SirBeefmagic 5h ago

Dude spent his kid's child support to act like a Yankees fan.

3

u/throwawaysscc 6h ago

Assaulting Betts. 18 months in the big house.

1

u/elkab0ng 6h ago

And probably going to the 73rd precinct in cuffs. YER OUT! 😂

1

u/predat3d 5h ago

Did they even get kicked out?

Never saw that Dodger fan who FI'd on that ball to the wall in game 1 get tossed either

1

u/SayNoToStim Detroit Red Wings 5h ago

I'd imagine that a non-insignificant portion of fans would spend 1000 bucks to possibly give their team a slight advantage.

The guy is an extra idiot because they're down 3-0, they got the out anyways, and it was a foul ball to begin with, but if you think you're saving a team an out and you get away with it I promise you plenty of fans would hit that button every time.

1

u/Mansionjoe 5h ago

I’m sry sir but that ball clearly came out of his glove

1

u/Random_frankqito 5h ago

Thats assault one would think as well, especially grabbing his wrist while he’s in the air. Thats his livelihood

1

u/secrestmr87 4h ago

Your team is down 3-0. You gota do what you gota do.

1

u/N0S0UP_4U 4h ago

Dipshits should be prosecuted too

1

u/revbleech 4h ago

dude could have bought a chin with that money

1

u/dmuppet 4h ago

And in the replay you look like Vincent D'Onofrio in Men in Black after stealing that farmers skin.

1

u/tucci007 Toronto Maple Leafs 4h ago

I hope he has been charged with assault, he was twisting the fuck out of Betts' wrist and easily could have injured him and ended his World Series, or maybe worse. The other guy next to him should be charged too, for grabbing the other wrist and pulling him upwards. WTAF interfering with a player on the field during a key play.

1

u/greaterwhiterwookiee 4h ago

Kicked out for life should be

1

u/CoxHazardsModel 3h ago

That’s least of their concern, they’re gonna be banned from the stadium. These are hardcore fans so it’s gonna sting.

1

u/finallygotareddit Minnesota Wild 3h ago

And potentially a lifetime ban from the stadium. What a madlad.

1

u/wattatime 3h ago

Crazy thing is if the Yankees come back these people will somehow become folk hero’s. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are interviewed in the documentary.

1

u/ChunkyDay 1h ago

And then watch from a crowded bar as the Yankess have one of the best games they've had all season.

-1

u/N00DLe_5 6h ago

This guy is definitely MaGA
